We have until May 1 to cancel. But as of right now, not looking good! I think the 48 cancel thing is only good on cruises through July?

We're young and healthy but just the thought of being quarantined on a ship and then sent off to some base scares me to the point that we are not going on our August cruise. All it takes is one person on the ship to be sick and that's it. I feel so bad for these people in quarantine. Their homes, jobs, bills, pets, children.... I'm reconsidering Vegas too.
I'm more afraid of being under quarantine then catching the virus.

My August cruise just keeps going up.

Just check my August cruise. My cruise price just keeps getting higher.

We are a bit worried for our August cruise to Bermuda. But we have until May 1 to make any decisions, either cancel or move to another date.

Oh no. What will happen to this ship when it returns to Miami? Isn't that where it left from? Will that whole ship be quarantined? I'm really reconsidering my August cruise! I have until May 1 to cancel - with a 15% penalty, but I'd rather lose money than be quarantined on a ship for who knows how long. This is getting scary.

Last week I felt a little better about this situation but now after hearing about Italy and some other news... I'm starting to worry again. I have until May 1 to cancel my August cruise with a 15% penalty.
-
Just checked... mine went up.

The thought has, of course, crossed our minds too. I called my TA and we could either move the cruise date or pay a 15% penalty if we cancel before May 1. Our cruise to Bermuda is in August. Over the last couple days, I think I changed my mind more that I still want to go. We'll be monitoring the situation and I'm sure RCI will make changes if they think it's necessary. But as of right now, we're going and that excitement has started to come back!
PS: a co-worker has a RCI cruise planned for July and she has not even thought about cancelling.

I just asked my TA what our options are if we decide to not take our August Royal Caribbean cruise (NJ/Bermuda/NJ). Even with trip insurance we can either move the date or pay a 15% penalty to cancel. There are four of us cruising and the other three don't want to go anymore. I'm on the fence but I'll cancel if that's what they want. Part of me says by August this will be all over with.... but then that little part of me says don't go.

Ugh. I'm in the same boat. (no pun intended) Everyone I'm cruising with wants to cancel. We will have to pay a 15% penalty or we can move the sailing.

I see. Thanks for clarifying!

I don't understand why they just can't move their cruise. I had a cruise booked for April 2020. A couple decided that they wanted to go with us, but not in April. I called my TA and moved our reservation to August 2020 - no questions asked. Is it because I actually had another cruise in mind and did not ask them to 'hold' my credit? Why couldn't they just pick out a future cruise and move their reservation? I must be missing something here!!
ps: we still have not made our final payment. not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I remember years ago, it ended up in my husbands name and we didn't know it and I ended up paying for everything I thought was covered and he ended up with a lot of free beer. Lol.
I couldn't remember how it works. Thanks everyone!

If I purchase under "Onboard credits/amenities" the $150 onboard credit and I book Chops for the two of us... will they automatically take it out of the credit?
There are two options... single or shared. So... single means the whole $150 goes onto my account and shared would put $75 on my account and $75 on my husband's account? If shared, would they take the cost out of both of our accounts?
Oh, and how far in advance are you supposed to do the transaction? A month before the cruise? I cruise in August 2020.
Thanks!

I get the chills just looking at that photo!!!

I'm trying to edit my signature. We changed ships for 2020.
I click on signature and I see all the ships... I make the change... click SAVE, but it doesn't save the change. What am I doing wrong?

That option has varied by ship, but it seems to be fleetwide now.
Great!

Our last cruise (2017) I don't remember being allowed to use the 3 free drinks during dinner in the MDR. Good to know we can now!

Cyn874 - Wow... sorry you are in this situation. I'm sure it happens a lot. I think you can make a name change if you were able to find someone to go in her place up until a certain point, but glad you are still going. Enjoy your cruise!!
This happened to us a few years ago... our friend and his wife got into a big fight the night before the cruise and she would not go! We told them at check-in that she was not able to make it. They paged her name over and over for hours... even after the ship left! We even went to the Customer Service Desk when they first started to page her. It was kinda funny to hear them paging her over and over. Kinda. lol

I wonder what you do from there. All your clothes, money and stuff is on the ship. Hopefully they have a credit card. I would just cry.

I have the same question. Chill Island?

So exactly how much money do you have tied up right now with bookings?

$600 Non-Refundable. TA told me I can use it through Dec 2021 towards a new cruise. Guess I'm cruising in 2021 as long as things are ok.
