  1. Hawaii should not bite the hand that feeds them...Where would they be without tourism.... In Florida tourists flood our towns and attractions, and we welcome their business which is why we do not pay state taxes.
  2. AWWWsome Ref61, short, sweet and to the point! Thank you so much for your reply.
  3. Has anyone experienced the 120-minute-long Jamie Lee Curtis narrated $7.99 audio tour rental at Pearl Harbor. 1. Is it a set of headphones? 2. is it a handheld unit? 3. do you start and stop it at your leisure? 4. As it plays does it direct you thru each section of the park?
  4. To help you understand if I'm spending $10K on cruise, hotel and auto rentals it would mean a savings of $100.00 to $300.00 depending on a 1% or 3% bonus on the CC used. (Mike Drop) 🙂 🙂
  5. Amen, Princeton! No Scottca075, as they are part of the mainland, I guess BOA assumes everyone considers Hawaii is includes as the US, I just wanted confirmation from BOA or I would move on to a card with a smaller bonus. I will take advantage of my BOA 3% bonus offer.
  6. Thanks to all who replied. BOA charges a 3% FTF, and she named a number of countries that are included. But their website does not clarify (even though Hawaii is a US state) if the fee would be charged for Hawaii. My reason for interest if we like many accumulate bonus points on CC use, Example BOA offers a 3% bonus for every dollar spent on travel. A 3% FTF would totally wide out a nice bonus on cruise fare, hotel, car rentals.
  7. Since Hawaii is part of the United States and most of us use Credit cards to pay for hotel RSVPs I called the Bank of America and spoke to a rep, they do charge a fee but she could not confirm if they do or do not charge a 3% foreign transaction fee for usage in Hawaii. Anyone advise?
  8. Please clarify, it's my understanding for a 7-day POA Hawaii cruise, passenger 1 gets one meal, and passenger 2 gets one meal, not 2 meals each.
  9. Thank you all for your thoughts. I will contact the airline as soon as NCL books and advises the seat arrangements.
  10. Thank you all for your good points! "I was not seeing the forest for the trees", not only will one of us fly free, but 3rd and 4th passengers got a significantly reduced cruise fare. (a pretty good deal) !
  11. Appreciate your reply, in our case which is an inside room for 4, only one of the four of us fly's free, the other 3 of us are paying airfare thru NCL
  12. I understand now the 4-passenger room getting one meal ea for 1st and 2nd passengers. Agent advised that an inside cabin of 2 people on a 7-day cruise will get one free meal for both the passengers in the 2-person room. Is that true? if so it seems a 4-person room gets slighted only getting 2 meals out of 4 people?
  13. VERY CONFUSING! I read the info on NCL website, and I spoke to our NCL agent and info is conflicting. Website explains " 7day, inside cabin of two passengers are eligible for one free meal plus $10.00 tip." Is that one free meal for just one of the two passengers? Agent explains for the same above scenario passenger one & two each gets a free dinner plus a $10.00 tip per passenger. Agent further explains for an inside room, 7-day cruise with four passengers are eligible for a free meal for passengers one & two only plus a $10.00 tip ea. Can someone please give a very simple clear answer to this perk? .
  14. Thank you all for your replies. Yes, it is NCL "Fly Free." we will not be 30 days out till August 8th. I might give LHT28's suggestion a try. Otherwise, I will be calling our ticketed airline at midnight on the 8th of August.
  15. Have not flown for several years, recently my left knee is unable to bend more than 90 degrees. As such Iam not able to sit in a position where I cannot stretch my left leg out occasionally to relieve the pain, hence, I really need to request an aisle seat on the right side of the plane. Our flight will be ticketed 30 days out flying from Orlando, Fl to Oahu, Hawaii. Other than paying for a first-class ticket has anyone had a similar issue, and how was it resolved? I would really knee' ed some advice.

    Hilo Rental Car.

Ita my understanding there is no free shuttle from port to airport and reverse.to/from airport, (Which is about 4miles and a 10 min drive).I believe Marshals Taxi (808-936-2654) will do the transport for about $20.00 for up to 1-9 passengers. You might try to share the taxi with another cruiser.
  17. Thank you Scottca, I thought the agencies no longer offered shuttle service to/from port to airport due to covid. That will be a great help!
  18. We are docking in Kauai at Nawiliwili, 3150 Waapa Rd, Lihue. Trying to find a taxi that will transport 1-4 passengers' to and from the Lihue Airport. I have tried to call and email to get an estimate but finding virtually impossible to get an answer. Are there taxis waiting at port to hire? Are there taxis at the airport to transport passengers to the port? I know there are many who have dealt with this on recent POA cruises, I and others would surely like some input please.
  19. Thx Rocketman for your reply. I would gladly buy NCL'S "beverage package" if they would allow me to carry on my own sodas. BTW, neither are alcohol drinkers a "protected class."
  20. Puzzled, don't mean to offend those who enjoy the spirits, but why does NCL allow wine to be brought on (and I understand you pay a "corkage fee) but not sodas? Both wine and sodas are offered in their "beverage packages" sounds like a little discrimination on non-alcohol drinkers...
  21. Thank you Paula_MacFan for your reply, have a great time on the rest of your cruise!
  22. Can't wait for our turn this September. There have been a number of conversations regarding shuttles from port to rental agencies. Can you advise are there shuttles that will p/u and drop off from port to agencies or airports for auto rsvp's?
