  1. The weather is amazing here in September, our best month. October is cool but the leaves are beautiful.
  2. Yes, sadly. We are all with you though!! Feeling super pent-up and pandemic fatigued as we close in on a year of this prison. It sounds like they will have cruises for locals or same-country (maybe even within EU) but international travel still has a lot of hurdles to overcome (ESPECIALLY for Canada) and I have zero faith in my summer '22 trip at this point. I would honestly not put another cent into a cruise, if you have yet to make final payment.
  3. If I was American I would definitely do something like this! Cruises to nowhere from Canada don't have the same flare lol
  4. I have to agree...lobster on a cruise ship and almost every resort...no thanks. lol.
  5. Halifax is magical and offers MUCH. I'm sorry that you didn't get the full experience in your time here. It's a walkable port but that isn't the best part of the city and surrounding area, by a long shot. I could offer some great recommendations for amazing gastro experiences...no lobster included 🙂
  6. No chance whatsoever for 2021. I am starting to have my doubts about 2022 now as well.
  7. We've been pretty much locked down since March so yes. Normally I would save the special clothes for vacation but then wear them in summer after. My lounge wardrobe has grown extensively since covid, however 😅
  8. I'm still packed from my cancelled cruise back in March so I'm good to go any time 🤣 But normally I pack a month or 2 in advance, if I travel to a place with an opposite climate/season to the one I'm in. I only get one fun travel vacation a year if I'm lucky so I get very excited. I like collecting different things as they go on sale and then just keep them in the suitcase til the end. Do a final pack a few nights before.
  9. Seriously! In 2015 I didn't need to roll out of bed a specific way to avoid pulling my back 🤣
  10. I, too, noticed my July 2022 Infinity sailing seemed to have a lot of rooms at all categories booked up already. I am booked in a humble inside room so I guess I will be first on the chopping block. What would be "fair" to me is to extend my FCC indefinitely, should they decide to give me the chop as well as PLENTY of notice. Business is business, I get it.
  11. It depends on the sailing. I had one booked without AI and then switched to one that only had AI (same TA). The big box bought a block of rooms as a group rate (with no AI) and then repackaged it. So whatever deal they were able to get at the time they are passing on to the consumer. You really have to be careful because you might think you are getting a better deal than you are (almost happened to me), unless you pay close attention to what's included in the fare.
  12. I won't even consider stepping outside the country until the mandatory quarantine is lifted. But if it is lifted, I travel, and something unexpected happens, I will deal with it. I survived it once so I know I can do it again 🙂
  13. There are a good number of risks associated specifically with cruising and this is just one of them. There is always a chance something happens while at sea or a port doesn't accept you (or even accept you back). There could (and will) be another viral outbreak down the line unexpectedly. You have to decide if it is worth the risk for you. The risk will certainly be at its highest in the early days when cruising resumes. You may be better to wait it out a bit longer.
  14. I've resorted to not wearing my glasses and mask at the same time. I'm out here squinting like George Costanza
