Have our 86 year old mother with us and she can get around pretty good. Any suggestions on what to do? Beach with indoor facilities if she wants to get out of the sun for a while? Any place to visit to see the history of the island? (She likes that stuff). I did a poor job of planning ahead for this cruise.
thank you.

Not going to sleep well tonight after reading this thread. My wife and I are flying to FLL at 530am with my 85 year old mother to jump on the Equinox for a 6 night cruise.
Praying for you all in quarantine.

I have some extra tests because two people in our our group cancelled on Thursday but we depart tomorrow. I'm trying to think of somewhere I could leave the test for you. What ship are you sailing on?
Anne, that is very generous of you, but the good news is that I did receive an email confirmation from Celebrity that they will test me at the pier because Optum failed to get me the test kit in time.
Have a great cruise.

I have read there is a testing site in Terminal 3 at FLL.I think you may need a appointment to be tested.
This might be what she meant when she talked about being tested at the port. Hoping to have some answers tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

We leave on our cruise from Fort Lauderdale on Jan 3. I ordered 4 test kits but we only received 3. I called Optum Store and they said they would send a kit next day and it did not arrive yesterday. I called Celebrity late yesterday and after being on the phone with them for about an hour the rep said she was trying to put me on a list to be tested at the port but I would have to call back on Sunday to confirm because they are not open today. So, it looks like I'm flying to FL at 5am on Monday morning without a test result. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Thanks.

Hello, "carmenOH."
We highly recommend the Equinox to you -- for dining, service, some entertainment, etc.. We have been aboard this ship for three long cruises, totaling 43 nights -- so it must be pretty good, no?
However, we must defer to others to talk to you about balcony/veranda staterooms (which we always avoid).
We recommend that you NOT book online, but instead get help -- over the phone -- from a Celebrity Certified Vacation Planner (or, better yet, a Captain's Club representative -- since you are a seasoned RCI guest and therefore a CC member, by reciprocity). Here is the Captain's Club number: 1-844-418-6824 -- and make sure that you tell them that you are a Crown and Anchor Society member who wants to cruise on a Celebrity ship for the first time.
Go, Buckeyes!
Oh come let’s sing Ohio’s praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still.
Summer’s heat or winter’s cold
The seasons pass the years will roll.
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship … OHIO!These jolly days of priceless worth
By far the gladdest days on earth
Soon will pass and we not know
How dearly we love Ohio.
We should strive to keep thy name
Of fair repute and spotless fame
So in college halls we’ll grow
And love thee better … OHIO!Though age may dim our mem’ry’s store
We’ll think of happy days of yore
True to friend and frank to foe
As sturdy sons of Ohio.
If on seas of care we roll
Neath blackened sky or barren shoal
Thoughts of thee bid darkness go
Dear Alma Mater…OHIO!Thank you for the info and Go Bucks!

Jan 3rd on Celebrity Equinox. Have sailed with Royal (10 cruises) and Princess (5 cruises). Have never booked directly on line because we have a contact with both of these cruise lines that help us pick out our rooms and help with other details. Any tips in this area?
How are the balcony rooms on this ship? Thoughts on this ship in general?
Thanks.

How soon can we get on this morning? Our last few cruises we have been siting by the pool with a cocktail before 11am. A couple at the hotel bar last night said this ship is slow at boarding passengers. This is our first time on Adventure.

I'd walk to the Puerta Maya pier which is right next to the pier that Royal normally uses (International Pier) and go to Pancho's Backyard.
Can you snorkel there?

I never know what the price is for a drink on the ship because we always buy the drink package. Is there a way to see what the prices are? We are headed out on Adventure in Jan and I would be curious to see a price list.

Adventure 1/26/20 dropped from $59 to $51 today. I'm hoping that's not the big sale but it probably is.

No price drops inside final payment.
Thank you. I appreciate the info Biker.

went down in price a nice amount. I booked through a Royal vacation planner so can I call to get the better price because we are in the 60 day window? I did pay for all three rooms in full when I booked.
Thanks.

Correct, as long as your phone, carrier, and software version support WiFi calling.
Excellent. Thank you

Basic Voom is all you need.
So if I have the basic Voom package all I need to do when I get on the ship is turn off my cellular and turn on my Wi-Fi calling and then I can make and receive phone calls and send and receive text messages?
-
I appreciate the info. Thank you.
-
To be clear (we will be on Indy in April) will having this package allow us to send and receive text messages from home?
-
😂 At the people in this thread that are angry about how others choose to spend their money.

By the time we hand over our luggage to the time we walk off the ship we have probably dished out $200 in tips besides the daily gratuities and I think that would be about average for those that tip extra but I did read on this forum that the individual getting the tip can not keep it. It goes into a kitty to be divided up. Is this true?

There's no timetable for specials, keep watching.
Will do. thank you.
-
and when I looked at the planner that last few days I notice that there are no specials. We usually by the drink package and voom on special and sometimes there are good specials for the spa. We usually book our cruise four or five months out so did we already miss the specials?

Very nice! Thanks for posting the videos.
