1.

The wording on my reservation (March 2017) for dining hasn't been changed either...still says Dynamic..instead of MTD....really not a problem as I know what I have booked.

The only thing I will say is I booked anthem first day on DD

We had restaurants to book on what menus liked

Then people complained and they changed the menus so they can and do change

I was disappointed and told them so politely in the restaurants

  2. Harmony is not on the list of ships that are currently scheduled to have the DreamWorks Experience. Anthem was just added to that list after the press release that it would be added when the ship arrived to Cape Liberty, so the list is currently up to date. Anthem was never on that list until just now.

They could always add DreamWorks later when the ship arrived to Port Everglades.

When I booked anthem for three night from southampton as soon as I was able dreamworks was showing as being on there

  3. One possible negative is that nobody knows how or if the Abyss slide and its support structure will impact balcony views. So a boardwalk balcony location that provided great views of the Aqua shows (or TVs or ocean) on the Oasis or Allure may have an obstructed view on the Harmony. Time will tell.

    Hello

So if the "worst" happened we would get an obstructed view of aqua but still nice view of boardwalk?

  4. Yes, you will be assigned to a specific table and that will remain your table for the entire cruise.

However, with Oasis class ships, all decks of the main dining room serve the same exact food.

    Hello :)

So can I get my head around this please

If you traditional you eat same restaurant each night

    But

If do "dynamic" we can choose which restaurant and their menu?

If their is a set menu for say wonderland what menu do you get in main dining room

    Thank you again

  5. Thank you

With the anthem there was a thread that put details of when we could book restaurants and shows and about restaurants etc

Do you think it will be put on this thread

    http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2039256

    A few more questions :)

If you book traditional dining do you ONLY eat in one main dining room ?

We are looking to boardwalk balcony room that overlooks the aqua theatre. Can you think of any negatives?

    Many thanks

  6. ABSOLUTELY!!! Book a Mustang convertible and drive to anywhere you would like to go! We did, and drove to Lahaina for a whale watching tour, sightseeing and lunch before turning the car back in at the airport. Thrifty will shuttle you to/from the port for free.

I am thinking of the beach, lahaina, sight seeing etc

Just wondering what is on route to stop off

Where could I get a route map for this area?

  7. You can also book hotel on Priceline name your own price - we got the Aston Waikiki at a super great rate for our 2 nights pre-cruise in May (it is the only 3.5 star listed, so I pretty much knew that's what I was getting). You'd want to go to a site like bidding for travel first to see likely hotels in the 4 or 3.5 star range on Waikiki and make sure you'd be happy with any of them!

    4-star Waikiki hotels listed:

    Marriott Waikiki Beach

Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa

    Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

    Outrigger Reef on the Beach

    Sheraton Waikiki Hotel

    Hi

Just curious, do you save much doing it that way?

How would you find out which 5 star hotels?

  8. Aloha :D,

Please note that that on this tour, you will only stop at the World War II Valor in the Pacific museum site. The USS Arizona Memorial & (Narrated Audio Tour at USS Arizona), USS Battleship Missouri, Pacific Aviation Museum, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum are all at Pearl Harbor. The rest of the places are just drive bys.

I know for a fact that busses are not allowed to stop and park at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and most of the other places listed don't allow tour busses to stop and park either.

That being said, what exactly are you trying to see? If you are trying to see the World War II Valor in the Pacific museums http://www.nps.gov/valr/planyourvisit/index.htm , I would do it over 2 days and see 2 museums each day. Visit the site for information about the cost of visiting the other museums.

On this thread, #3, js4rq said that he recommends VIP Trans, at $6pp one way or $9pp roundtrip. http://www.viptrans.com/ I would not catch the Bus since the traffic on Oahu is the worst I've seen in all of the years I've lived here because of the light rail construction that won't be finished for at least 5 years.

I would take the VIP Trans to Pearl Harbor taking the earliest possible reservation and eat breakfast in the car. I would pay the $1.50 service fee and reserve my free Arizona Memorial ticket ahead of time. REMEMBER you have to pick up your ticket at least 1 hour ahead of the ticket time. If you want the $7.50 Narrated Audio Tour at USS Arizona, you can purchase it in the visitor center. When I got to Pear Harbor, I would go to the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & visitor center while I waited for my Arizona Memorial ticket time and ride the tender out to the memorial.

Taking your time and seeing the memorials and then getting back to Waikiki (why else are you going to Hawaii and Waikiki?) and the beach & pool and resting up for a nice dinner will get you prepared to go back to Pearl Harbor the next day.

The second day, I would go back to the World War II Valor in the Pacific/Arizona Memorial visitor center and take the Ford Island shuttle to the Battleship Missouri Memorial and the Pacific Aviation Museum, again returning to Waikiki to enjoy the hotel and the beach.

For a 3rd day trip (this is all day & into the night), I would take the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) all day tour with one of the tour companies. This is something I take my out of town visitors to see. I've driven them out to the PCC and visited the different "villages" and had the dinner several time and it never seems to get old.

I am thinking of doing through the PCC the island tour am then polynesian afternoon into the evening inc show. Would you recommend doing all through PCC or a different co

  9. Hi

Firstly thanks for all your help

I have been on gov website and see you can choose tickets and the actual time for uss Missouri

But notice the passport to pearl harbour tickets says unlimited ticket from 8.30 to 5. In that case how do we know which time we are on uss Missouri

    Thanks again :)

Ps also going to read your detailed response again at the weekend

  10. Hello

I am quite interested in this :)

For anyone that has done ths, do you find it too long of a day with too much time on the bus

I understand the roads are narrow and by big drops. Did you ever feel "uncomfortable"

Also wondering which tour company you used

    Thank you

  11. Same here - I wanted to eat from the proper menus in the restaurants I chose based on my food preferences and from trying something a bit different, not from someone's idea of what the 'best' of each restaurants were. I made my feelings known in the feedback questionnaire.

We didn't even have the benefit of being forewarned about the menu changes by RCCL - we only found out a couple of days before, via discussions on these boards.

    Exactly

  12. Yup, the 8 night maiden voyage had the taster menu twice completely unannounced. I can see the point of the taster menus on 3 night sampler cruises because you aren't going to be able to try all 4 restaurants.

It will be interesting to see if they keep using them on longer cruises.

I didn't want to try all four restaurants

I wanted to go to two I decided on via menu and chops

I was very disappointed they did this

  13. I am on Anthem right now and haven't had time to read the whole thread but the brochure they gave me on board today does state that DreamWorks experience is onboard!

I have just got off and picked up a brochure. Looked through it and said anthem has dream works and had the date of cruise just got off from

Will be writing about this, Jamie a la carte and taste of anthem menus
