  1. We've done a few cruises on RCI, NCL & Celebrity................and are booked on a HAL cruise next year.

We have a couple of questions.......

Is it true that we can gain immediate access to our cabin once onboard?

Is it also true that we can stay in our cabin until we're called for debarkation?

    How can that be?

AND not only can you stay in your stateroom until you are called for debarkation you can have breakfast delivered from Room Service. I suggest you use the door menu card left by your room steward to assure it arrives at your needed time.

Sometimes your room stewards will ask your permission to enter your stateroom while you are still waiting to begin changing bed linen and such.

  2. I'm hoping that as this promotion gets into full swing that more will come back and post their "reservation" experience. We have 8 people traveling (4 staterooms) and our TA has them all linked together. We are hoping beyond hope that all our Pinnacle Grill reservations will reflect this but ..............

Question, does anyone know who we should contact onboard if we wanted to attempt any changes to the reservations or found we needed to cancel?

    Thanks

Many thanks for your reading list Annie. While I've read several there are still plenty to download to my Kindle (I share your love).

And yep, it is always amazing to read different peoples' divergent reaction to people and "things". That's what makes the world go round, think how boring life could get if we all liked exactly the same thing or person.

Also many thanks for taking you time to do not only your "live" but to put together this wonderful "summary". You're the best! :D

  4. I'm still reading your Review, and want to stop and mention this before I forget it........................

But, as I stated above, at 2:00pm on HAL the guacamole and Sour Cream are removed and replaced at that time by Nacho Cheese:( So, if you are like us, and want Sour Cream and Guacamole to make your Nachos, Go and grab a couple of small bowls (or drink glasses) and get the Guacamole and Sour Cream BEFORE 2:00pm, then you can make them with all the correct (IMO) Ingredients to make Real Nachos!!

    Joanie

Well Joanie I'd say that was just unbelievable but that must have been exactly what DH encountered last March. Now that you have provided the details he can get his Nachos/Tacos with all the stuff he wants by making 2 quick trips timed correctly. Thanks bunches!!:D

  5. Annie I'm glad you've been able to get much needed R&R in the sun by the pool or at least in that "warm" pool water.

Sorry about your CD, good ones are great and bad ones are AWFUL!

Maybe some head honcho read your comments about the strange deserts and replaced the executive chef just for you. :D I'm sure that the trivia session with the "audience submitting questions" must have driven you crazy. :p

    Continue to enjoy, Barb

  6. Just as an aside Shower Gel or Body Wash does not leave the scum that bar soap does. Bar soap has a bit of wax in it while the liquid/lotion ones don't. Sure makes keeping the shower wall and/or glass doors so much easier to keep clean. Ran into the same situation on HAL, loved the Steiner products in the shower dispensers but they were not carried by Steiner onboard.

David I do hope you are going to be able to catch up on missed sleep and get your body ready for midnight tomorrow.

  7. 1. Do not over pack! After you've laid out all you think you want to take put 1/2 of it away and then put the rest in your suitcase. No one you meet onboard is going to be making notes about what you are wearing-- mix & match and rewear stuff. Remember all you pack at home must again be packed on your last cruise day.

    2. Treat all HAL staff as you would like to be treated and it will come back to you threefold.

    3. Don't try to do everything, take time out to just enjoy the "ride".

    4. If you are served food that you find unpleasant or untasty ask for something else. Always ask you MDR waiters what they recommend. You don't have to take their suggestion but oft times they are right on the mark.

    5. If something doesn't go right on your cruise (ie. missed port) don't take it personally. Stuff happens, roll with the punches and keep a positive attitude.

    6. Plan on arriving at you port of departure a day in advance.

    7. And yes, to repeat Cruising-along's suggestion wash you hands, wash your hands.

    8. Last but not the least the one thing you must pack is a good attitude. That along will guarantee you a wonderful time.

    Women's perfume doesn't affect you?

Well actually it does to the point where I even avoid the Cosmetics departments in big department stores. Guess I should have made my statement "women's perfume" not just "perfume". :o I never think of men wearing "perfume" just cologne or aftershave. Guess I'm just not very sophisticated.

  9. Oh heck Annie, don't fret about the "live from", you can fill in the days with your marvelous banter once you return.

Why worry about no sweatshirts just throw on your white Princess terry cloth robe?!?:eek:;) Gin supply running low oh dear.... better make sure you cozy up to that cute bartender in the Pacific Lounge. :D

    Continue to enjoy yourself, Barb

  10. Annie I'm sorry you are going to miss Casablanca as it would have at least given you another oppertunity to at least look for more shoes. :D

Now about that Burnt Rhubarb Napoleon.... I'm just going to assume you did not sample it.

Sounds like your shower curtain's loss and your gain! :D

  11. Maybe they don't want to wake up all the 140-year-olds snoozing on every couch in every public place.

    Watch you tongue youngster. ;):p

    .....................

You know when it's been too long between cruises? When on the first couple of nights aboard, the ship moves and you jolt awake, thinking someone just sat down on your bed. The cure is obvious: drink more so you fall asleep quicker. No, no, no. Cruise more. That's it. Or both . . .

    Of course it's both! :D

Annie it sounds like you are having a great time and I hope it continues.

  12. For Pete's sake, Annie- Now we are going to have a thread (from one of your cruise mates) about killer cocktail dresses and flip flops (or sneakers or hiking boots...) in the MDR on formal night!

    Enjoy the day!:)

Oh trust me no one will say anything negative about Annie... just look at how killer good looking she is regardless of what she has on her feet. And don't anybody tell me that's not her as she had us post this exact picture of her back in May of '09 for Bill's World Cruise Thread Gala and no way, no how would she have passed someone else's photo off as her own. ;):D;)

  13. This morning, for the first time ever, I watched the Wake Show. Um, I don't get it. Why are they wasting their time and mine reading the Patter to us? Is there some huge percentage of illiterates sailing on Princess that I'm unaware of?

Oh dear Annie do you know how difficult it is to not destroy my laptop while drinking my morning tea and reading your posts? Let me tell you, it's almost impossible! Keep this up gal and you will owe me big time. ;)

Keep it up DOCTOR you have soooo earned this cruise! Barb
