  1. Not sailed with p&o before, do they have specific start times for the theatre shows in the evening ? Would second tilting be to late for the second show ?

Specifically Ventura on a European cruise if that makes a difference.

    Thanks

  2. Does Princess have the traditional shows at the traditional times? What is the level of fun compared to RCI and the newer ships. I have found at least on the Oasis, to much planning and figuring out was involved. I guess, I'm your old fashioned traditional cruiser. Is there late evening entertainment, piano bars, comedians? I am a single cruiser and enjoy eating with the same group of people every night of the cruise.

Yes to all the questions, depends what you call fun. No rock wall or flow rider but all the usual quiz, talks etc etc..

  3. We have sailed both and as has ben mentioned all in all very similar. However on RCI the oral nights have no end goal whereas on PCL. Thy start/end with champagne towers and captain speech in atrium and party after dinner in atrium which meant you actually got dressed up for one hint out of the usual whereas RCL it was just a normal night.

Also big screen near pool is not used for films in late evening/night which PCL do use to give you an alternative to the she or pub act on offer on RCL.

Both recommended as you know so sure it will be a fab cruise.

    Enjoy

  4. Hi everyone, only cruised with Princess and RCI outside school hols time.

Considering cruise next year but just how bad/good is P&O Ventura during school summer hols ? We would have a 13 year old with us.

Comments please from those who have travelled at this time of year in UK.

    Thanks

  5. As it looks like you have booked a UK cruise there will be no freestyle machines onboard just soda guns dispensing coke, sprite, tango and a couple more. No bottled water, water is available on pool deck bars and windjammer.

No special coffees in the select package just standard tea/coffee options from cafe promenade etc.

Tips will be added to drinks bought onboard outside the package drinks.

  6. Hi there

since RC does not offer the regular Wine package on our trip out of Hamburg we learned that we would be able to bring 4 bottles of wine with us on board.

Can I bring the bottle to Dinner with me and let them keep it for us? Do they charge corkage fee?

Hope anyone can answer this question.

Four bottles ? I assume you must have two staterooms as it is two bottles per stateroom not per person.

  7. I'm not sure if this is linked to the problem but over here in the UK we are going through a "All inclusive drinks and gratuities" promotion from RCI for all European cruises in summer 2015. It's not actually all inclusive drinks but that's another story....

What it is doing though is sending sales and prices through the roof, my friend who is a TA has never sold so many Royal cruises. If this is being replicated throughout Europe then it will be distorting current prices.

A lot of UK sailings for next year have risen by £600 - £900 over the last 6 weeks. You get nothing for free with RCI.

  8. Just found T & C for WOW Sale and it is NOT combinable with the All Inclusive offer !!!!!!!

Therefore, totally pointless for UK sailings.

The WOW Sale promotion is not combinable with the All Inclusive promotion, the Last minute summer deals OBC promotion, Crown & Anchor Discounts, the benefits offered by booking onboard via our Future Cruise Consultants (Reserved or Open Bookings), Travel Agents Rates/ Interline Rates/ Nett Tour Op Rates / Gross Tour Op Rates, Shareholder Benefits or any form of Non revenue price programs for example but not exclusive to: Seminar at Seas, Perishable Inventory, Comp prize winner staterooms.

The WOW Sale promotion is applicable to agents & consumers in the UK & the Republic of Ireland (i.e. applicable to GBP & EUR).

The offer will only be combinable with group bookings if booked and named during the promotional period at the prevailing rate.

The onboard credit can be spent up until 10pm on the final evening of the cruise. It has no cash value and is not redeemable for cash. Any credit remaining after this time will be removed from the account.

Bookings that are created within the stated campaign booking period that subsequently wish to amend price or to access another promotion may not retain the offer.

This promotion is applicable to new bookings only. Existing bookings will not receive the promotion benefits.

Options may only be allowed until the end of the same day they are held, during this promotion, after this time options will be cancelled.

Please refer to the Royal Caribbean 2015/2016 first edition brochure for full booking terms & conditions.

  9. Sale/offers are just cover words for previous price rises. I have been looking at some UK cruises for next year and on average the have risen £700 pp - £1000 pp in the last four weeks.

So although all inclusive etc sound good, you are paying way more than last month before the offers.

I can't see the prices coming down any time soon if ever.
