  1. Not exactly true now:).

When you put in your C&A number during the booking process on the UK RCI website special pricing is shown with a blue star/asterisk against different cabin grades having special offers. If you don't put in your number the figures are higher.

I just booked last week a cruise with a big USA travel agent and was told by the agent that the price included a $65 C&A discount and this was for an inside cabin. I don't have any reason to doubt her and she said that they need your C&A numbers at the booking process to check for discounts.

Are you sure ? I thought the asterisk just showed staterooms with an attaching offer. I can't find any sailings where putting in the C&A number changes the price, can you provide an example to see the value of the saving ?

    Thanks

  2. T&C's are here; can't see a limit......it't the standard Select Drink Package.... (from £26.55pppd)

Ahhhhh I see, I couldn't see the limit either, sounds like a good deal drink package for 2 and tips I reckon are worth about £500+ or am I missing something ? No price rises overnight to make up for the offer as far as I can see although prices sneaked up about £150 in last couple of weeks mmmmmmm

  3. It is difficult to say on 2 and 3 but 1st will 99.999% be on the second night the others depend and are not always sea days either.

I would book for night 3/4 to be pretty sure not a formal night.

On our cruise the third was on night after stopping at Lisbon.

    Enjoy.

  4. Hi Dizzysailor. I am looking forward to your review - we will be on the next cruise ! It will be our first time on IOS I am so excited.

Do you know if they charge for shuttle services when they arrive in the different ports and if so how much on average?

    Have a great cruise.

Shuttle buses !!!! Now that is a good question. They vary so much, last month it varied from €3 in Barcelona arranged by port to $19 (€15) in Lisbon arranged by RC for similar dustance.

No need for a shuttle on your cruise in Vigo or Gibraltar.

Can't comment on the Italian ports.

  5. Hi

We came off Independence yesterday after our first cruise, and had a very good time. Already thinking about doing the same ship again next year. Where this was for our 30th wedding anniversary, the next one will be a family affair. Loved Windjammer and MDR, we are British. We did have some nice Asain meals on board. Joff, the cruise director did some excellent shows, but one of the comedians was, lets say a bit below the belt. Enjoy your cruise.

I think Indy is in carribean all next year, not sure if you are aware or just fancy a carribean cruise.

  6. It's the lifeboats. At least for deck 6. The way it has been explained is...If you're sitting on your balcony, you'll look at all lifeboat. If your standing, you'll be able to see over the lifeboat and out into the water. Deck 7, I believe has some structures from the lifeboats blocking some views.

That sounds like some quality planning then !!!!!!

  7. DWalkerDave,

My family lives in Bristol!!! My Mum was born in Bedminster! I love my visits to Bristol, Clevedon and Weston SM!!!!!! What part are you in?

I've never left my kids on board except when they were teenagers and having too much fun to go shopping with dear old Mom!!!!

    Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, we live in Portishead about 5 miles from Clevedon. I was just wondering if I could leave a 13 year old on board rather than drag her around each port, she would be able to contact us by mobile if any probs as w wouldn't be going on excursions or anything so could return quickly if needed.
