Not exactly true now:).
When you put in your C&A number during the booking process on the UK RCI website special pricing is shown with a blue star/asterisk against different cabin grades having special offers. If you don't put in your number the figures are higher.
I just booked last week a cruise with a big USA travel agent and was told by the agent that the price included a $65 C&A discount and this was for an inside cabin. I don't have any reason to doubt her and she said that they need your C&A numbers at the booking process to check for discounts.
Are you sure ? I thought the asterisk just showed staterooms with an attaching offer. I can't find any sailings where putting in the C&A number changes the price, can you provide an example to see the value of the saving ?
Thanks

On my Med. cruise in June it was 85% Americans from the states.
Nowhere near this level on my med cruise, I would say no more than 25% from US and 80% in bow ties on first/second formal nights but I reckon this fell away to say 50% on the third.
Enjoy.

If self disembarking I think you have to leave ship by 7 am from memory.

I would phone again and ask somebody else, things change depending who you speak with.
Otherwise, not sure about US booking rules so close to sailing but could you cancel and re-book the same cabin. I think it is either advisor not knowing what to do or computer problem.
Good luck

The reason I ask about the select package is that is the package currently on offer by RCI in the all inclusive deal.
-
On the select package I see there us an $8 limit, on the price list I can only see 1 wine below $9 !!!!! (White wine)
Can you pay the difference only ? Or is the package really that restricted.
Thanks

T&C's are here; can't see a limit......it't the standard Select Drink Package.... (from £26.55pppd)
Ahhhhh I see, I couldn't see the limit either, sounds like a good deal drink package for 2 and tips I reckon are worth about £500+ or am I missing something ? No price rises overnight to make up for the offer as far as I can see although prices sneaked up about £150 in last couple of weeks mmmmmmm
-
just saw this too. but the drinks are limited to $25 per day in case anyone drinks more than this;)
Are the drinks really limited to $25 per day ?
-
Do people think prices will drop, rise or stay the same when these offers end later today ?
Book today or wait ?

The OP does live in California and that's in the USA.
I was referring to non US customers ie. UK who do not benefit from the refund policy etc.
Even I know where California is !!!!!!!!!
-
Except if you live outside the USA !!!!!!
-
It is difficult to say on 2 and 3 but 1st will 99.999% be on the second night the others depend and are not always sea days either.
I would book for night 3/4 to be pretty sure not a formal night.
On our cruise the third was on night after stopping at Lisbon.
Enjoy.

If bathers are dry why not slip a pair of shorts over the top, not exactly hard to do or time consuming ?
Not everyone wants to see your meat n two veg whilst tucking into their lunch !!!!!!!
-
Most of the bars around the pool deck also had self service ice cold water from a machine on the bar.
-
Has anybody had one of these and if so what is it like ?
Is it a real time outside view or just made up cloud n sky n sea etc ?
Before anyone asks a balcony is over £1000 more !!!!!
Thanks

Hi Dizzysailor. I am looking forward to your review - we will be on the next cruise ! It will be our first time on IOS I am so excited.
Do you know if they charge for shuttle services when they arrive in the different ports and if so how much on average?
Have a great cruise.
Shuttle buses !!!! Now that is a good question. They vary so much, last month it varied from €3 in Barcelona arranged by port to $19 (€15) in Lisbon arranged by RC for similar dustance.
No need for a shuttle on your cruise in Vigo or Gibraltar.
Can't comment on the Italian ports.

Hi
We came off Independence yesterday after our first cruise, and had a very good time. Already thinking about doing the same ship again next year. Where this was for our 30th wedding anniversary, the next one will be a family affair. Loved Windjammer and MDR, we are British. We did have some nice Asain meals on board. Joff, the cruise director did some excellent shows, but one of the comedians was, lets say a bit below the belt. Enjoy your cruise.
I think Indy is in carribean all next year, not sure if you are aware or just fancy a carribean cruise.

Indy gets my thumbs up as well
The comments about cleanliness and toilets above are laughable from what we experienced and that was just 2 weeks ago.
I see someone s doing a live from Indy this week, will be interesting to see what they experience.

Recently off IOS and only other thing I did notice is that when we were in port be day there seemed to be a lot Of fumes at the back of the skip. Not sure where they were coming from, possibly generators used whilst docked, if they do this ?
Sure somebody more technical will be able to comment.
-
We had the same email, nobody even asked and we just joined the short line at about 11.45, took about 20 mins from walking from car park to being on ship.
Don't panic I can't see them turning anyone away who doesn't comply.
Have. Nice cruise.

Personally, deck 6 is the way to go with no need for lift to get to prom, theatre or dining rooms and other attractions on deck4/5.
-
It's the lifeboats. At least for deck 6. The way it has been explained is...If you're sitting on your balcony, you'll look at all lifeboat. If your standing, you'll be able to see over the lifeboat and out into the water. Deck 7, I believe has some structures from the lifeboats blocking some views.
That sounds like some quality planning then !!!!!!
-
Does anyone know why a lot of the above are shown to have a 50% obstructed view ?
All images I can find on web do not show what would be causing this obstruction.
Thanks

DWalkerDave,
My family lives in Bristol!!! My Mum was born in Bedminster! I love my visits to Bristol, Clevedon and Weston SM!!!!!! What part are you in?
I've never left my kids on board except when they were teenagers and having too much fun to go shopping with dear old Mom!!!!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl, we live in Portishead about 5 miles from Clevedon. I was just wondering if I could leave a 13 year old on board rather than drag her around each port, she would be able to contact us by mobile if any probs as w wouldn't be going on excursions or anything so could return quickly if needed.
