  1. It's your vacation, have fun! We have been on two cruises, the very first, was on Disney in a concierge suite. The second, in an ocean suite on the Carnival Breeze. My husband is a vacation snob, and he was very hesitant to go on the Carnival ship. We have a 10 year old, and wasn't sure what to expect at all, but we were going with friends of ours, who had already booked this cruise. Honestly, we had a lot more fun on our Carnival Cruise! The atmosphere was just more fun! Even our 10 year old had more fun on the Carnival ship! Take the vacation you have already booked. Forget the nay sayers! You will have a great time.

  2. I agree with you on shaking up the ports. What I don't understand as well, is why there are SO many ships going to the exact same places! RC for example, has the same itineraries for both the Allure and the Oasis. Why is that?! I suppose they are filling the ship, so it doesn't matter to them, but I would think it would make sense to have those similar ships do different things.

  3. I just made my final payment today. (For an upcoming Sunshine cruise)

I should have a review posted for you sometime in early January.

My wife doesn't read Cruise Critic, so I can tell you the little secret that she doesn't know about yet... we're booked in one of the two Captain's Suites. I'm not planning on telling her about our accomodations until we open the door to the cabin. All I've told her at this point is that the aft wraps were already booked and unavailable. Hopefully, she'll assume we'll be in a regular balcony cabin... and be more than a little surprised when she sees the spectacular Captain's Suite!

That's awesome!!! Can't wait to hear about it and see your great pictures! We are booked in 12002, which looks huge on the deck plans, but can't find a stitch about it! January...good, plenty of time for me to get ready for August!

  4. Thank you So much for your review and all the pictures! We are taking our first Carnival cruise in a month (on the Breeze), and only our second cruise ever. I am in awe of all the research you do. I spent all day reading it yesterday, and now have to go back to read your review on the Eastern ports, as that is what we will be on. I would love to do more interesting, on-cruise excursions. Do you have a resource you like to go specifically when you are doing your research to find these cool places? Or can I just send you a check and you can tell us where to go. :D New business venture for you?! with all your free time? HA HA!

Again, thoroughly enjoyed your review, I'm officially a fan. We used to be neighbors...lived just north in Delaware for several years. Good luck as you finish up your degree!

  5. I just booked the Hyatt Place for $99 taxes included through Expedia. Found a promo code good for 15% off. EXP15B. I'm sure it would work on any other hotel too, but thought that was a great deal for a hotel with a free airport shuttle, free breakfast and great reviews! I booked a two queen room. There are three of us.

  6. I noticed the Cambria has been mentioned. Found a great rate on this hotel with a free shuttle from the airport. We don't fly in until around 7, so don't need to spend the money on a beach resort. We'll do that on the way back (cruise in Sunday morning, not flying out til Monday). Will I be able to use SAS with this hotel for shuttle to the port of Miami? And is there anything around this hotel? We will need dinner that night. Thanks!
