indeed 4 days at sea is better than 4 days on land. This cruise is a short get away for us. Vacation time is limited and hubby needs a break. 2017 will see us with a lot of freedom to cruise!! Working towards retirement.
-
I am thinking it will be less kids as most families wont' want to take their kids on a cruise and bring presents. I am thinking it will be a older crowd. I am hoping I am correct. We sailed Celebrity at Thanksgiving last year and never again due to too many kids. i have kids and love kids but not at this stage..unless they are my own!!!

So sorry for your experience. I am sure it was an emotional time and to have to work extra to make it happen is upsetting. May your loved one rest in peace and peace to all of you.
-
Yes he will have pants on:rolleyes:...don't want to be over dressed..although I have been on many cruises. This trip is all about chilling and destressing. It is a short trip but so glad I have my balcony to wake up to.

Thanks for the post. I think Hubby will do the jacket but no tie, def not the tux. Iam even rethinking the dress i had planned
.
We will be on the 12/24-12/28 cruise. Just a quick break. We live in SW Florida so it is easy for us to get to, no kids home this year, we had them at Thanksgiving so a perfect time to escape.
Thank you for the information.

Thank you, Merry Christmas to you as well.

Thank you for your imput. I won't be wearing my beach coverup to dinner but this cruise is a de-compress trip for sure. We plan to rest but will plan to pack dress slacks/nice tops. I will wear a nice dress for Christmas night. Definitely no Tux for this trip. We are limited on time and just needed a short break.
Thank you

We sailed Indy for Thanksgiving and it was great! Service was good, food was amazing, the ice show was the best! Even our 3 year old loved it. I try not to let negative reviews get to me. I treat each cruise like my first.
We have sailed on Freedom twice and Liberty once. I realize each ship and crew is different but RCCL always delivers. We will be on Indy, or first for her, on 12/24. Looking forward to RCCL again after so many years on Celebrity. I can't wait to see the Ice Show again.
Who was the Captain on the Thanksgiving Cruise? I hope there are still some ornaments left in the gift shop. I have one from each ship we sailed.

This is our first short 4 day cruise over Christmas. We have always done 7-10 day cruise and have no idea what to pack. What is the typical attire. Are there any formal nights? I was thinking business attire for Christmas day and casual-dressy attire for the other 3 nights. Would love some imput.
Thanks..

I contacted a place at the suggestion of poster on our CC forum regarding what to do in Cozumel. They suggested Paradise Beach Club in Cozumel. I inquired with the owner and was truly impressed with his email, the cost, and the beautiful location.
His reply is below..
Hola
Thank you for your e-mail and for choosing Paradise Beach! We don`t have a
hotel on our property but our beautiful Beach Club is open daily from
9am-5pm. Here below is some more information about us that I think might
be helpful,
(Please note that prices are for 2015 and are subject to change)
For the use of our facilities (including the rental of lounge chairs,
beach umbrellas, use of the pool, and FREE Wi-Fi Internet access) we only
charge $3 usd per person and we kindly request about a $10 minimum food
and/or drink consumption on the beach or at the pool. We have two full
bars with daily drink specials, including the famous tropical drinks
served inside a whole coconut or pineapple (available with or without
alcohol.) Plus our waiters offer full menu service on the beach, so you
don’t even have to get out of your lounge chair to order food or acold
beverage. You can check out our menu on our web-site at
http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com
There is the optional FUN-PASS available that not only includes all of the
inflatable water toys: the water trampolines, 14-ft. climbing iceberg,
water slides, a floating multi-tiered Jungle Joe climbing structure,
Jungle Joe 2, wibit flipper, aqua-glide blast bag, the Rock-it circular
water rocker, jungle joe xl, aqua glide revolution, , and water mats ---
as well as the coconut tree climb and bungee-trampoline jump on the beach
….the “Paradise Beach FUN-PASS” also includes the use of kayaks, full
snorkel gear, and stand-up paddle boards…all of this for
only an additional $15 usd. (Many other beach clubs actually charge up to
$10 or $15 extra for kayaks and/or snorkel equipment rental).
In addition to all of the above, there are several extra activities
available at Paradise Beach including parasailing, wave runner rentals,
banana boat rides, hair-braids, temporary tattoos, and heavenly massages
on the beach. Below is an approximate price list from all the extra
activities we have available at Paradise Beach (please keep in mind that
these services are offered by a third party concession and prices may
change without notice):
Parasailing: $65 usd per person, $110 usd per tandem for 2 pax, $150 usd
per tandem for 3 pax
Banana boat: $15 usd per person
Wave runners: $65 usd for 1 or 2 people for half an hour
Massage: $80 usd for 1 hour, $45 usd for half an hour
Temporary Tattoos: from $10 usd (depending on size and design)
Getting to Paradise is super easy. The quickest and easiest way to get
here is to take a taxi from your cruise ship terminal. There are
literally hundreds of them outside of the terminal, so just hop in one and
say, "Take me to PARADISE beach!" It is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride and
runs about US$16 each way (per TAXI not per Person) for a car for up to
four people or US$22 for 5 people. There are also taxi VANS that can hold
up to 8 people and cost about US$32 each way (per VAN not per Person).
Once you all are ready to go back into town or to the ship, there are also
plenty of taxis standing by here at the beach to take
you back...no worries.
I hope this information has been helpful, should you have any other
questions or need any additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Muchas Gracias!
Malin

thanks everyone, we have used their site many times, they offer great information. The menus were from 12/13, do you think they will be the same now?
Cruising maniac..we can't wait for these last 20 days to pass..

Looking for pictures of Reflection of the Seas Main dining room menues..
Does anyone have a link to view them? Thanks...

We will be doing a 9am zodiac tour that should take us about 21/2 hours, if we got back to port early enough what would be the closest, most cost effective beach to visit for a few hours...thank you

We took a cab ride out to Emerald Beach, dropped a couple off at Morning Star, wasn't too impressed, wanted something more tropical, loose and tiki like. Was very happy with Emerald, will possibly return in Nov if our morning excursion is done in time to make it worth the cab ride...

Trainman2...in your travels if you happen to come across cabins 7563/7561 which are Promenade view rooms could you tell me which side of the bridge that spans the Promenade they are on?
I will be praying for you this week that you find joy despite the memories. Our memories are God's gift to us to keep those we love close to our heart. I know it would be difficult for me to cruise alone after so many years with my husband. Blessings...

We are sailing the Independence of the Seas 12/24-12/28. If there are kids i will deal with them. We sailed Celebrity over Thanksgiving last year and it was too much with so many kids and nothing for them to do. RCCL has programs and activities, Celebrity does not cater to kids so they were bored and took over every public room looking for something to do. I have grown kids and cruised with kids for many years. I never let them run the hallways. This trip will let us know if we ever do a holiday cruise again.
