To keep costs down you have a chance to share your tour on the tour sharing site, have alook at tripadvisor for reviews.if go with thompsons you will have the chance to go to the Vatican also.

The one we had on majesty was awful, lol. Got short hair and still took ages to dry.

Looking at doing the same cruise when dates are out for jan/feb 2016. Best you look up ports on either cruise critic or tripadvisor, plenty of info on hand. Think people tend to hire a driver for island tour, or get a taxi to the beach of your choice.

Thanks geo, we was lucky to get the free drinks package on the majesty in aug, and will have it free on dream in July. However not noticed it free on carriabean cruises, looking at thompson celebration for jan/ feb 2016, either carribean treasures/tropical delights, or carribean treasures/ Latin gems. It's a difference of three ports. One goes to pointe a pitre/ Guadeloupe, Kingston / st Vincent and the grenadines, Scarborough/ Tobago , other goes to kralendijk/ Bonaire , Willemstad/ curaçao , Oranjestad / Aruba.

Noticed on thompsons website, dates only upto October 2015. Any idea when jan/feb 2016 dates out?, and any chance of free drinks package on a carriabean cruise?, or do you just find this on the med cruises? Thanks.

That's the problem, if you book cruise later on you end up paying full amount for drinks package. If book in advance can get it free, but not really free as prices can be higher, than if booked last minute cruise. Some would say drink package not worth it, depends what u in tend to drink. If just lager would not be worth it, but if a wine or spirits person, and someone who likes nice coffees than best to book package.a lot of drinks are not free, even if on package such as cider, water etc.

If just a lager drinker, there was a beer package offered on board,35 pints for 102 pounds. If you like a couple of glasses of wine with your meals, maybe best getting drinks package.

Got back off majesty , had drinks package free. Worked out the two of us would have spent 471 pounds in one week, prices soon add up. A few prices as follows, pint of lager 3.70, glass of wine(150 ml) was 3.90, cocktails 4.70, mock tails 2.70, glass of coke 1.10, latte 2.30, hot choc 2.50, orange juice 1.80, think spirits around 3.90. Hope this helps :)

Can't speak for the dream, but on the majesty there was no sky sports, but sports news, so husband can check the scores, while you have a cheeky glass or two of your favorite tipple.

Just back from the majesty, and a kettle is in the cabin, and coffee and tea provided free.

Thought I would start a new thread to see when everyone is cruising and on which ship:)

Most ports we will do DIY , but believe best to book three thompson tours, one from Toulon to cassis, another from sorrento to amalfi drive, and one to Florence / Pisa. We will then look at taking the ferry to portofino, a trip from villefranche to Monte Carlo by either train or bus.

Thanks for all the input everyone, loads to research . Been to 3 of the ports already, rome we hired a driver from rome in limo, and visited vactican and collusium , plus lots of other places. This time will either use as extra ship day, or explore the surrounding port. Been to Barcelona, and visited the nou camp, and wandered down rambles, really love the vibe there. Also been to sorrento, lovely town and can't wait to re visit, but this time want to visit almafi drive, other ports are totally new.

Found a much better deal on the dream, so have booked that. The ports will now be visiting are villefranche , Livorno , rapallo, Toulon, Barcelona ,Palma, olbia,sorrento , rome, Ajaccio , and palamos
