  1. I find that very disappointing, but then again I can always stumble my way over to Johnny Rockets or Sorrentos and get some good "eating while drinking" food.

I'm glad someone asked this question as I'm going on freedom in about 2 months.

I've never cruised before so this might be a dumb question but, if I buy a beer at the Pub or a pool bar or what have you, can I walk around anywhere on the ship with it? I know there are probably a few restricted areas. But could I buy a beer in the pub, wonder around the ship a bit, then head back to my cabin with it? Will anyone be like "quick take that guy to the brig! He has an open beer outside of the bar!"?

Not a dumb question AT ALL...I do it all the time..I go to the Pub, or wherever I like the beer ( like I'll take a Beck's draft over a bottled beer)..you can also have one of the bottled beers in the Pub and walk around the ship with it- no problem...remember, they WANT you to buy drinks...Freedom is a great ship..go see the beer menu in the pub on deck 5 ( Royal Promenade)..they may also have 2-3 beers on draft there, but don't hold your breath..they're almost ALWAYS broken...

  2. So no it's not!!:D

I know, I know... a pub without fish & chips???? garlic bread & cheese? Ploughman's??????

No sausage rolls??? OUTRAGEOUS......the Irish Pub on NCL Epic ( O'Sheehans named after CEO of NCL..) is 24/7 with appetizers, fish & chips AND 6-8 drafts ......aaaahhhh!!!!

  3. Two questions - Does anyone know what beers they have on tap in the Bull & Bear pub on FOS? I like ales and IPA's so I was hoping they had some good beers on tap. Also, does the alcohol package apply to all these tap beers?

Recently on the Liberty ( same class ship) they had Stella..I had Boddington's on the Allure 9 days ago but the draft broke ...I have told RCI that their draft selections are horrendous..HOWEVER....the BOTTLED beer menu in the pub is actually pretty good..you can find it in a post on draft beers on RCI somewhere on the 1st or 2nd page, and someone posted the beer menu.....I know, I know, you want draft, so do I....but I'll take Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in a bottle over Bud Light draft anyday of the week...there was some Beck's draft around the ship.....don't know if the alcohol package includes drafts- good question.....

  4. I'm amazed they let people out on those rocks! Hoping to get an early flight in next April to watch Oasis leave, I'll probably stay off the rocks since I'll have my camera, it would be too much to try and balance and hold a camera.

Bill- You can also go to John Lloyd Park, where there are NO rocks, and in fact, a nice beach, restrooms ( NONE at the condos), a barbeque area, and you watch the ships leave from the STARBOARD side instead of the PORT side...you pay $7 per car and go to the END , where it says "jetti"....we prefer it there much more BUT they close at sunset...so you must check the sunset calenders...in the winter, the sunsets between 5:30 and 6 PM...in April, it may be 6:30, which should be fine since the Oasis leaves at 5-5:50 ....any more info needed ,let me know....

  5. I have watched a few ships sail from the rocks at the end of the beach on the port side as the ships sail out. Fun thing to do and recommend it if you arrive a day or two before.

12 days til my sail away on Oasis B2B :) deck 11 aft balcony to wave to the cam :)

Majesty is sailing away right now on the Port or Miami cam

  6. The next best thing to being ON THE SHIP, is to watch them leave in Port Everglades..there are 2 places to see them.....one is John Lloyd's park, the other right near the condos where the PORT FEVER cam is located...I go about 7-10x a year..it's about 45 minutes south of my house...my wife & I bring our beach chairs, a cooler with goodies, and of course............................................THE BINOCULARS!!!!!!

We go Nov- April, then 90% of the ships leave for Europe & Alaska.....can't wait to start going again in Nov....my friends are going to see us off on the Liberty Of The Seas Nov.10 and we will waive from our balcony cabin....47 days to go!!! Anyone else go down alot to see the ships leave?

  7. Cruise agent here PLUS a 25 cruises guy...I tell friends & clients WORST time and most $$ are:Spring break (usually March & 1st 2 weeks of April),June-August summer break,Xmas & New Year's weeks..BEST times & bargains:Jan.,1st 2 weeks of Feb.,May,late Aug-1st 2 weeks of Nov.,and 1st 2 weeks of Dec. are great bargain times...Thanksgiving week can also be pretty good price wise,BUT there are alot of kids on those cruises..good thing is many of us get 2 days off that week anyway, and many kids have 2-5 days off as well.We have cruised 4 times at TG,but also 1-2 weeks before is great,too...weather is good, and few children, and good deals....Sept-Oct is good too,but still very HOT & HUMID...good luck...

  8. My family is currently booked on a cruise on the Freedom OTS in cabin 6650. Our family consists of myself, my wife and 2 boys (ages 8 and 12).

Has anyone stayed in this cabin before? Is the size similar to the D1 cabins on the Voyager class ships? Since this is right by the hump, what is the balcony like? Is it any larger than the standard balconies?

Freedom D1's MUCH bigger & nicer than Voyager class: D1 Freedom is 214 sq ft & 68 sq ft balcony,Voyager D1 188 sq.ft + 50 sq.ft balcony...pretty big difference PLUS Freedom has flat screen TV's.........Freedom my favorite ship...don't forget to sit in the canti-levered hot tubs in the Adult Solarium on a sea DAY,AND hit the Flowrider with the boys and they'll also LOVE the H20 Fun Zone pool area, all this not found on the Voyager class(which we love, but no comparison to Freedom IMO..)
