Great day in the Azores. Thermal baths, the local lunch at Tony’s, then pineapple plantation with goodies, pineapple vodka, beer, sorbet, tart, and got a bottle of liquor.

Lol, so cruise bloat has set in 😉 We like being diamond and having 4 free drinks. No rush to get 6-7 drinks to break even, and no specialty lunches, too much food with dinner again a few hours later.

Bring a hideaway money belt for both of you. Bring sneakers as most of the trip is cobblestones and stairs.

Agree with Joe… the kitchen brunch tour was really cool. I am very versed in restaurant operations, but to see the scale of preparation and cooking for 6000 people up to 3x a day was fascinating. 10,000 cookies a day, 20,000+ rolls, all consistent and on time, just amazing. It was interesting that all kitchen staff must have at least a 2 year culinary degree to even start working, and how they move up the ladder. It was well worth the price!!!

Went to see The Book last night. Not sure I followed the storyline, but the music and singing were exceptional. The dancing and the whole production was fantastic. I was fully entertained and would suggest it for everyone to see at least once. You must have reservations. They check for them at the door, get there early as seats go very fast.

This morning

We ate at Giovanis for lunch. The meatball was excellent, the pizza was not much better than Sorento’s, and the desserts were great. Very disappointed in the pizza, i expected it to be much better, but thought I would give it a try before we get to real pizza in Rome and Naples.

Odyssey offloaded someone, the lifeboat just came from the island and got loaded back onboard, but we are still here.

Another medical emergency, they are offloading them to the Oasis now (6:30 am) Not sure why we came back to Bermuda to do that.

The intelligent thoughtful people that stand against the buttons repeatedly then laugh and say sorry i know not to do that. Rude people that cram the elevators so full you cannot help that someone pushes them all. Just pure stupidity that can be solved by putting in normal buttons.

MDR food and service has been excellent so far. WJ breakfast has been great, very well designed space. Hot-tubs are luke-warm at best. Cabin showers are great, good pressure and hot water. Comedian was very good. There are less then 200 kids on board so no issues with any of them. Lots of pinnacles, but not enough to kick us out of the diamond lounge, we are only having some restricted hours of the day. The venues are great, a few choke points when shows get out but good for people watching. A great cruise so far and very impressed with the Odyssey.
