There is a huge difference between "cancel for any reason" and medical insurance, which I get most of the time.  It is still taking a chance of something happening after final payment and before the cruise .

I have found the best rates are with Square Mouth.  You will find very reasonable quotes from many insurance companies. 

I have submitted claims twice.  Both for visiting the ship's doctor.  And both for colds.  I felt like it had to be more than that but wasn't.  Yes, I am a wimp.  But the insurance covered the claims. 

I heard someone had a claim from visiting the ship's dr that amounted to $7000 and it was covered.

I just want a cup of coffee with a little milk!  Nothing fancy.  I just don't want an espresso.

Can someone tell me if the espresso machine in a concierge cabin can make a regular cup of coffee?

We did Haven on the Getaway a few years back, then did the Yacht Club the following year.

The Yacht Club was significantly less expensive, but included far more perks;

Free drinks around the ship for EVERYONE, a great restaurant that had different menus at EVERY meal (the Haven Restaurant had the same menu every single day). It had a very nice lounge with free snacks, free drinks, nightly violinists and pianists, and daily high tea service.

The pool on the YC was larger than the Haven's, and had butlers coming by non-stop bringing you drinks and food (and you never had to flash a card or anything.)

There were a few Haven passengers on our Yacht Club trip, and we all agreed it was a superior value and product.

 

That said, I'm next doing NCL Escape (non-Haven) as there is no MSC ship close to me in NYC, and the water park is better on NCL.

How is the entertainment?  Especially on MSC Seaside (if that is the ship you are talking about)

Really enjoyed your review.  We have stayed in the Haven and you brought back wonderful memories!

I wanted to comment on what you said about the French Press coffee.  We have asked to have it made weaker and stronger.  It is all up to who is making it.  We always asked for the same server for breakfast when we found one to make it to our taste!

Thanks for all the information.  It seems to me that it probably would be fine to check the luggage getting on the ship but take our own luggage off in case someone picks up our luggage by mistake. 

I probably should have mentioned that we are in a suite.

Can we bring our medium sized luggage on board without checking it with a porter?

After reading about luggage dropped in the water, we would like to just carry our own.  I know we can bring our small roller bag but what about medium sized luggage?

Is it difficult to carry all your own luggage when you check in?

We have done it on short cruises with pretty small bags.

We're on the same cruise.  Our itinerary shows leaving at 5 p.m. for both those ports.

We just booked a cruise for next month.  We are on a waitlist for early dining which doesn't seem likely since we are so close to cruising.

Any chance of getting changed to early dining or mytime dining if we go to dining room after boarding?
