  1. Have you checked your documents under your booking. Most times you will not get a response and the OBC will just show up in your docs. It's been like that every time I have submitted by email.

Same here. I sent my proof of ownership to both Carnival and Holland America on the same day. I got an email back from HAL, but none from Carnival. I checked my documents on the Carnival site and my OBC was there.

  2. This was sailing out of Nassau on the Bahama Star. That's my uncle and his GF waving goodbye. We lived in Nassau and would take the ships to Miami to shop and visit friends - kind of like a ferry. The metal building is close to where you go through to Bay Street now. It's changed a bit!

  4. small bottle of hand sanitizer

    travel alarm clock

half the clothes I used to pack

lots of $1 bills for tips (I hand them out randomly to crew members working around the ship, get great smiles in return!:D)

my "I don't give a crap" attitude! for chair hogs, annoying travel mates, other people who worry about the small stuff :D

  5. Aww, you mean they don't do it at all during the first seating?

    cdamion said

"Should be every night and the timing would be towards the end of the 2 assigned dining seatings "

The "2 assigned dining seatings" means first seating and second seating (or early dining and late dining). Both traditional dining times have the waiters dancing toward the end of their dining time.

  6. Can I just tell you that your signature has me worried. All but one of your august trips have been changed due to hurricanes, and this is my first august trip.. *sigh*

Yep, just call me "Hurricane Magnet" - and that's just the cruises... we've had land vacations interrupted, too. Friends ask where I'm going... and go somewhere else!! BUT, we've had FUN! A cruise is a good place to be if there's a storm because they will take you somewhere else. It's hard to move a condo out of the way!!

We just go with the attitude that we're going to have fun, no matter where we wind up. So far, it's working for us.

  7. All of this making aluminum foil hats is really starting to become offensive to me and Im sure is very degrading to those that have problems hearing voices and think they have chips in their brains.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that you simply have to fold the foil to a certain thickness and place them inside of both of your shoes. This will disrupt the signals sufficiently and those that are monitoring you will not realize that you are on to them.

OK, Got a silver dress for elegant night to match the foil, how thick should it be?- hoping this will work with my flip-flops. Thanks, this board is great - you learn more and more stuff you really need here.

I have seen this picture before . If I'm not mistaken there was quite a nice story behind it. I so love the old photo shots :)

I think I posted it on the RCI board in one of those other photo threads. I can still remember everyone waving and throwing streamers and confetti.... back when we didn't know it was bad! Of course, there was a place on Bay Street in Nassau where you could pick your turtle (just like you can pick your lobster from a tank), they would clean it, and Edna would make the best turtle for Thursday night dinner... which meant grits and turtle gravy for breakfast on Friday!! I loved going with her to pick out our dinner!

We were on the Yarmouth Castle the week before she burned, too.

  9. This just says "VACATION" to me!

This is what you saw, many years ago, as you left Nassau... we lived there and would take the Bahama Star or Yarmouth Castle over to Miami to visit family and do some shopping. This is my uncle and a family friend waving good-bye at the port. Nassau sure has changed.

  10. How much are those carnival tail/drink of the day glasses? I love them!

I'm not really sure, I just signed! I think it was around $10 - but don't hold me responsible for that info (it wasn't the first drink that day :D )

I got that one on the Holiday in March, they had them on the Fantasy in July, too. I had to take it to school and drink out of it for a week or so to ease myself back to the real world :)
