  1. NCL is extremely late in posting itineraries. It may be they just haven't posted those yet. I keep watching as normally I already have my February cruise booked for 2018 and so far they only have a few ships on the schedule.

  2. We did the NCL excursion in 2011. We enjoyed it very much and thought it gave a good taste of the area. We had the most free time in Monterosso which was where we had a nice lunch. The scenery is magnificent and there are plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. We were actually there just a few weeks before the big mudslide that caused so much damage. We were lucky to have taken the Via Del Amore walk between Riomaggiore and Manarola. It has never reopened after the storm in 2011. [emoji17]

We are actually spending two weeks in Italy this fall divided between the Tuscan region and the Amalfi Coast area. One of the day trips we are taking from our apartment in Lucca is back to the Cinque Terre. We plan to make it a full day so hopefully can spend more time in each location. It is well worth the visit no matter how you choose to get there.

    Enjoy!

  3. I just booked my May 2018 Pride of America cruise. Not sure when exactly they opened, just noticed it about an hour ago when I went searching.

Hawaii is one of the few they post quite a long way out as they have that as a permanent itinerary at this point.

  4. I really think it has nothing to do with Cuba. Americans still can't go to Cuba as a tourist and it will be several years before they can.

I heard Carnival is sailing to Cuba and the President mentioned Cuba opening as a cruise port during his visit.

  5. We sailed Royal Caribbean the first week of February to the Eastern on the Allure. It was the first time ever that we have been on a ship that stayed on "ships' time" the entire trip. I have to say that I preferred that rather than adjusting to a time change twice while on vacation. I wish all of the lines did that. Just think of the paper they would save by not having to leave all those little notices in the cabins. [emoji6]

  6. I agree that this was less than exciting news. [emoji853] I first got excited when I read 10/11 night Southern Caribbean only to realize it was the ship out of New York. [emoji20]I am really hoping for that type of sailing from San Juan or Miami for February 2018. The good thing is that I still have hope as there are many ships that itineraries are not yet published for. Fingers crossed!

  7. Sorry to hear your experiences were bad. I would have been upset myself. I am hoping it was just bad timing or something that they will take note of and correct. We like NCL better than any other line (35 cruises or more at this point with several lines).

I hope you take the time to write to guest relations to let them know what happened and I hope they offer a small incentive of some type to give them another try. [emoji6]

  8. All right....how many years since we have all asked for a platinum plus? I do not think anything different will ever happen. They have us. No need to try and keep us because we keep going back. I still chuckle at my little pleather atlas and think of all the nice things that happen on the ships because we are repeat customers...c'mon...if it sucked...we would not keep sailing with them.

True.. But there is always hope. [emoji6][emoji924]

  9. I read it was a vocal pro show or something like that. We just went to the theater this past weekend to see "Vocalosity" which is an all accapella show which was very good. I am hoping the vocal show mentioned is this type of show. I thought it would be perfect on a cruise ship as it was such a great blend of music from different eras and styles.

Personally I am excited about the change as we sailed the Getaway last Feb. and will be sailing again in Sep. 2017 so it was nice for us to have the show change from what we saw already. We will be on the Escape next Feb. [emoji924][emoji3]

  10. I thought I would post a follow up here in case others may be interested. I got nervous about getting into the dining room so the day we boarded (we went in with the first group to board) I headed straight to the dining room to try to make reservations for the 5 nights I had not already made them for.

The girl at the restaurant told me the only times available were either too early or too late for us. She said "the dining room is full- they are trying to see if they can use space in the other dining rooms to accommodate everyone"). I asked if we could not just show up and wait for a table and she said that while I could do that she had no idea how long we would have to wait for a table. We didn't know what to think and were afraid we might be making alternate plans for the week.

Day one- this was the one day we had a reservation for the main dining room at 5:45 as we had Mama Mia at 8 and wanted to get a good seat. We got down to the dining room around 5:40 and the lines wrapped all the way to the beyond the elevators. There were two lines..the longest initially was for reservations. My friend and I left our husbands in the reservation line and waited in the non-reservation line just to see how it would work out. They got through right before we did so we switched back over to that line.

We had no idea if this was going to be the norm. Fortunately after that - we never experienced lines like that. We went without reservations between 6:30 and 7 most nights and never had a problem getting in. They did put us one night on deck 5 which was the traditional dining restaurant but that worked fine as the waiter was doing his best to move our dinner along in a timely manner. (We had one night that took almost 3 hours - if they ever ask you if you have a show to get to - say yes..we learned the hard way).

  11. I owe NCL an apology, as the dust settled quickly. I'm booked on the mid September variation. Now you have me wondering.

I just booked the 9/10/17 sailing..if you also booked that same date would be something as we have a history of picking the same itineraries and dates! We both booked and then canceled the South America 12/16 same date and sailed on the Epic 2015 10/18 ...no 10/19 trip. ;)

I am hoping the price will drop as time goes on as it seems high right now but I am excited to do this itinerary as it will be new for us.
