Anyone been on the Liberty recently and know when they typically start boarding? It’s been a while since I’ve been out of Port Canaveral. And I totally get it depends on previous disembarkation. Just looking for typical.

I’m going to pick a random time and say….10:30?

I think printed them at first but never needed them so we stopped

This is an unpopular opinion but this is why I always book myself. I had an issue where a PVP messed up a simple thing and wouldn’t correct it.
There is nothing a PvP can do that I can’t. But they can mess things up for sure.

We go into airplane mode at sail away. And yes, bring your charger.

I’m hung up on the not saving money by staying away from family. That sounds like a win-win to me.

I like them. Least favorite thing is no Oceans plaza so sitting and listening to music can be tough in the atrium or casino bar. But I’d sail on them anytime.

And $15 minimum on Mardi Gras and Celebration.

Your words above.
Actually, you’re right, I did say that. Let me be clear, it was (and is) a stupid decision to rent a scooter on a port day. Any accident that comes from that, and the consequences of that accident, are the result of poor decision making. Does that mean they deserved it? Nope. But their poor decision making resulted in this. Whether they had insurance or their passports isn’t the issue to me. And they have now shifted a burden onto their families. Grats on that.

Unprepared as far as travel insurance goes, I agree. But what control did they have over a hit and run? Stupid? I dont think so. Accidents happen all the time.
I’m not saying it was stupid. I’m saying they did an activity that has foreseeable risks. Yes, accidents happen. But you can’t get hit if you don’t rent a scooter on a port day.

That's a little harsh. Are you saying they deserved to be I jured?
No. I’m saying they engaged in an activity that has a huge chance both for something bad to happen and the outcome could be catastrophic. And were unprepared. Harsh is what they are putting their families through.

I've followed missing person situations on cruises for years because they are always interesting to me and I love to cruise. I usually defend them because they are mostly suicides and cruise ships are statistically safe. HOWEVER, this one is very weird. Like very very weird. He was last seen (kind of) at 3 am with key card swipe into his room and didn't show up for breakfast a few hours later? Had an inside room? No overboard censor went off. Just weird all around. The Miami Dade police statement said this individual "could be in need of services"?? What does that even mean?
I also usually defend Carnival but I feel they should have delayed the cruise from leaving until detectives could have thoroughly searched the ship and sent out an email to the thousands of "witnesses" asking if they saw anything suspicious. This one will be interesting to follow. I'm hoping he willingly is hiding. Maybe starting a new life or something. Stressful times.
Well, given that it’s been 7 days, he wasn’t/isn’t on the ship (at least, not alive). I’m not sure what delaying things last Monday would have done. They searched the ship. He wasn’t on it. Unless he is some ship ninja.
The most likely thing is, he jumped overboard and the detection system didn’t catch it.

I did until they brought back the priority boarding for platinum/diamond so now it there’s no need. Unless I happen to be up at midnight.

I am sure that would warm their inner being….starve their families, but that open communication you would offer overides all those trivial items like basic subsidence.
Haha. You serious, Clark? Not sure about anyone who doesn’t know Caddyshack quotes.

At the end of the cruise, I tell the crew, there won’t be any gratuity. But on their deathbed, they will receive total consciousness. So they got that going for them.

I’m guessing another cruise line might be better for you. There is zero Carnival is going to do about language.

The only port I won’t get off the ship at all is Belize. Even on ports like Nassau, I like to get off and walk around if nothing else for some exercise.

Thanks, maybe I’ll look into a bit longer trip!
If you are worried about it being a booze cruise (and not sure what you would consider that), I agree with a 7 night or longer. I’ve only been on a few 4-5 days cruises and it definitely Had a different vibe to it. Not that it was bad. I had a blast.

For me, they don’t feel as crowded as some of the smaller ships. But that also depends on what you are doing. For example, we have been on the celebration 3 times. We love comedy. My wife and I get to the club 10 minutes before a show and have no problems finding a seat. Because they have multiple shows every night. I also think the ships are broken into different areas well so not everyone has to be in the same area. That’s not to say there aren’t lines. I just feel like I wait in line less on the celebration overall.

1) Yes. To the bar itself. Not the outside part.
2) It’s on deck 6 between Java blue and the center stage

We get our time dining every time but never have an issue going to dinner early (6:00 or so) if we want. You just use the Hub app to queue up for dinner and it lets you know when the table is ready.
If you want to try and switch to early, go to the dining room on embarkation day and talk to the matre d to see if you can switch

Totally agree. On the FB groups I get on for each sailing, by the end of the cruise, you’d think we were taken over by bands of marauding adults and kids. I’m sure people experience or see bad behavior. But I also think that some people are not happy unless they are complaining. Or they are not happy unless they are judging others.
Why people care so much about what others are doing is beyond me. As far as Carnival getting a bad rap, sure. But these ships are full and the vast majority of people are having a great time. If people didn’t have fun, unless something happened like their AC didn’t work, that’s their fault.

I do like some ships more than others but the ship itself is never the reason I cruise. feel for you if it makes that much of a difference. Maybe try a higher end cruise line?
