  1. Ugh, pictures aren't working. I will fix that.

Also wanted to add that Michelle and I had been part of a roll call (on another website, that shall not be named...:D) and we did attend a meet & greet after the kids went to bed. We were exhausted, so we only stayed for a little bit, but it was nice to put faces to names and be around people who were just as excited as we were!

It was also this time that Lame Pick-Up Line #1 was used. I was getting a drink at the bar, when I was approached by a (clearly drunk) British navy guy. He said hello and asked what I was doing at the bar. I mentioned the vacation with my HUSBAND and KIDS, to which he replied, "Well I'LL be your kid." Uhhh, what? I didn't even know that meant - would you like me to assign you chores? Give you a time-out? Pick out your clothes for the next day? Wash your underwear? Nothing about that line was good. Not that it would have worked anyway, obviously, but still - I'll be your kid? Try harder. Be less lame - and creepy.

Another website? I didn't know there was another website with a roll call (seriously)

  2. Best way to book your steakhouse reservation is through the CCL website after you book you cruise. When you go into your booking, there is a place to plan your cruise. I believe the Steakhouse is the only restaurant you can book before you get on line.

Not sure why anyone would go through John Heald for something you can so easily do on your own. I think it was a week or so after I booked that I got the email. I submitted my request online a day or two after I booked the cruise. January for my September cruise.

I filled out the form, hit submit but I haven't heard anything back. Nothing in my spam folder...weird.

  3. Have you done this since 2014? Carnival wants all drinks in carry on today.

If its in the checked luggage they will confiscate the soda.

Each teen can carry on one 12 pack of soda. If they dont want to carry it they can drink whats available on the ship. (iced tea and lemonade-- mixing it together makes it good (take your own insulated cups too)

If you read the entire post it says that he puts them in the checked for flying, and then once they land he swaps them out into his carry-on. ;)

  4. I am not trying to "get away" with something. I have always packed sodas in my checked bags, but I came across someone in the forum saying that all beverages had to be carried on not checked. I did not know if this was a new policy or they just never minded me putting it in my checked bags. We have not taken a cruise in a few years so I did not know if policy changed. I have always just had a separate suitcase that I put sodas, water and snacks for the ports.

Don't stress too much. There are a lot of people on these boards that leap at the chance to make a lot out of nothing.

I understand your question. Good on you for getting the info ahead of time :)

  5. I'm usually one of those "why do people bring their children on a cruise" type of person

The wife-to-be and I mainly cruise when school is in session, and I am often times left wondering, -shouldn't those kids be in school

Now to answering your question...You're likely to find everything from college aged kids drinking til they puke to diamonds enjoying their 12th free cruise of the year.

At 13 I'm sure he'll be fine. I've noticed kids seem to group together in packs during cruises.

  6. My bf and I are going on a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on the carnival glory in a few weeks. I have been to the destinations before, however it has been years and this is my first vacation as an adult planning everything on my own. I have looked into third party shore excursions, however I prefer to stick to carnivals own shore excursions. What are your thoughts on the excursions offered for each port of call: half moon day, st Thomas and Puerto Rico.

My biggest hopes are for parasailing, snorkeling and zip lining. Can't find parasailing anywhere. Any thoughts on third party vendors for this? It's also my boyfriends first ever vacation, cruise, time out of the country and first time seeing the ocean!!! I want to make this as memorable as possible. Please, any and all advice is wanted and appreciated!!!!!

    Thanks!!!!!

If you have the time, go snorkeling in St. Thomas. They'll take you snorkeling off of Buck Island a sea turtle sanctuary.

  7. Hi there,

The wife-to-be and I are cruising for our honeymoon. Normally we stay interior, but we both agreed we want to splurge on a more expensive room. We're debating between getting a premium balcony, wrap around balcony, junior suite or ocean suite. We have a few questions for all the cruisers here.

First, we see the suites have priority boarding. Does that also include priority tendering and access to the shorter Diamond/Platnum/FTTF customer service line?

Second, what are the differences in the sizes of balcony? Do the premium or wrap around come with loungers? What about the suites?

Third, and I know this will be very subjective, but which one is "worth it" more? For those who have stayed in different balconies, or suites, or both, please give me your experiences. The more info I can get from everyone here the better.

Thank you in advance for the help! :)

  8. Hi there. The DW and I are looking into booking our first cruise with RC. We have only ever cruised with Carnival. I was curious, what are some of the differences between the two lines? What can I expect to be better? What can I expect to be done differently? I am probably opening up myself to a lot of joke answers, but we'll see :p

Thanks in advance for the information :)

  9. Hi there,

DW and I decided we're going to save up and go big on our next cruise, which for us means getting a balcony.

We like sitting out and grabbing some sun, but don't like fighting with the chair hogs for 2 chairs together on the deck.

Does the balcony come with a couple of chairs for us to both sit out there?

Do any of the bigger balcony rooms (extended aft, etc) come with loungers at all?

Thanks in advance for the info :)
