  1. I said it was wrong in my first post... I never claimed it was the right thing to do but keep in kind this occurred before Carnival ever took real enforcement against chair hogs. Thank you for the unsolicited morality lecture though. There is probably a smuggling thread somewhere that could use your input as to what is right or wrong.

I wish there was a like button on these boards :P

  2. Just got off the Dream. On the Serenity adult area, about 30% of the chairs were "saved". I asked the Carnival employee standing next to the sign with the rules on it. He came around, looked at the sign, and said "We don't do that."

Even worse on the regular decks. My daughter said that 6 chairs near her were reserved for 4 hours, and nobody ever showed up.

He wouldn't remove the stuff, even though the sign said not to? I would have said something to their manager or GS.

If they're not going to be part of the solution they are part of the problem.

I am usually pretty liberal, not complaining about other people's behavior. Vape where you want, go to your room early, cut in lines, whatever it isn't worth getting worked up about, but if I can't find a seat to relax, because you've put your claim to a chair while you're in the casino, something needs to be done. Even worse if a Carnival employee doesn't enforce their own rules.

  3. Can anyone tell me if they serve draught deer on Carnival Paradise or is it all canned beer.

    Many Thanks

    Bill

Carnival should have their own beer they serve draught style. When I was on the Paradise last year it was "Red Frog Amber Ale" if I remember right. Comes with a nice souvenir glass for an extra few $$

  4. Sorry for blitzing the board with questions lately, but I set sail Thursday and random questions keep hitting me

    So...

Normally I'm a craft beer snob (make my own), but when we're at the game, or a cruise, the girlfriend and I will drink the usual stuff.

My question: I drink Coors Light, shes a Miller light girl. If we order a bucket of beer from the bar, are we able to get half and half? If not, we can compromise, but I am just curious.

  5. Quick question about that. Is it only served on sea days, or is it just named the "sea day brunch" -- I tried checking the website but I couldn't find any clarification. I am assuming the first one, but I figured I'd ask.

Follow up question: would traditional breakfast be served in the MDR on port days?

    Thanks :)

  6. The only cool perk I get this sailing:

"Complimentary beverage at Seaday Brunch (on ships where brunch is not available,

complimentary beverage at breakfast or lunch

    in Main Dining Room)"

This is only my 2nd cruise. How does this work? Do I just tell them when I ask for a drink? Is this an alcoholic drink? Or just like...a soft drink?

  7. Sailing out in about a month and I have 2 questions here:

    1) I checked zydeocruiser but there aren't any 4 day menus posted. Just curious if anyone had any examples of what the 4 day menu looked like.

    2) For a 4 day on the Victory, do they have multiple or a single lunch menu.

Thanks, as always, in advance for any info :)

  8. What kind of room? My wife and I always book inside cabins so the two things that we need are a travel alarm clock and nightlite(I'm scared of the pitch black).

We're also on an interior. We don't need anything fancy since very little time is spent in the room. Saves us money we can put towards buckets of beer :p

Alarm clock and nightlight. Good idea.

  9. I read they play movies on big deck screen at night. .do they play any recent movies or do they play old movies?

I don't know, but if I may make a WAG, it would probably not be anything in theatres, because the rights to those moves are expensive and Carnival is out to make money. If I had to guess, it'd be something along the lines that redbox or HBO would serve up.

  10. The GF and I are 35 days out from our cruise. This will be her first cruise, and my second, and we are both really excited for it.

That being said, I wanted to get a list of odds and ends people usually pack that not everyone thinks of, IE: highlighter for your itinerary, earplugs in case it is loud, etc.

Thanks a ton in advance :)

  11. The license in my wallet is just as good as your passport card in yours off the ship.

I have never once seen any official document saying it's easier or faster to get a passport just because you have the card.

It is easier to get a passport if you already have a card because, you can just fill out paperwork online, print it, and mail it directly to the passport processing facility in Philadelphia with the same picture you took for your card. If you don't have a pass port, you have to fill out the paperwork, get a photo, go to a processing facility, have them take care of it.

It took some time (a few days) for me to go through the process to get my card. It literally took me 1 hour to get everything done for my passport since I already had my card, and that includes sitting in Washington DC traffic to drive to the post office.

  12. What is formal enough? Not jeans? Are Khakis and polo good enough? Slacks and a button up shirt? Suit? Does everyone have to go all-out tuxes?

Everyone's idea of dress up is different. Also, I'm on vacation, I don't feel like dressing up like I'm in the office.

I know I'm just going to wear khakis and a polo or button up shirt for formal night.
