Things to do..

Hello everybody, May 8 is my second time going to Bermuda. Last year we didn't do much as we were both first-time cruisers and really were not certain what we were doing.

This year we're going and with a little bit more experience and confidence and we are wondering what to do.

What's can't miss?

What can be missed?

We want to do the aquarium. We want to do the caves. We are definitely doing the Swizzle Inn.

However, a friend recommended Admiralty House and I was wondering you thoughts on that, thoughts on the above-mentioned, etc.

Anything you guys can offer would be phenomenally helpful and appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Things to do:

Along the South Shore about 30 minutes from Hamilton and 30 minutes from the Dockyard:

  • go to the beach, most popular -
    (#7);
  • after your visit to Horseshoe Bay, walk the beach path that connects 5 beaches, start at Horseshoe, end at Warwick Bay (#7);
  • go horseback riding on trails (#8);
  • climb a lighthouse - Gibbs L/H (#7),
  • off the beach snorkeling at
    (not protected), near Horseshoe Bay;
  • get a day pass at a private beach resort (#7).

Hamilton, at or nearby:

At or near St George or convenient to when visiting there:

At or near the Dockyard:

Close to the Dockyard but not within walking distance:

  • go golfing - Port Royal Golf Course, closest course to the Dockyard (#7 or #8);
  • try hiking/biking the Railway Trail;
  • see the smallest drawbridge, Somerset Bridge, (#7 or #8);
  • visit Scaur Hill Fort (free) (#7 or #8);
  • rent Boston Whaler, pontoon boat, or SUP;
  • take a jet ski tour

Not close to any of the above, but somewhat close to each other:

The number (##) following some of the attractions is the bus route that the attraction is closest to.

The glass beaches are not listed....one in St, George and one a short bus ride from the Dockyard...

At one time, I had a reference to the glass beaches, but I read of an outcry from Bermudians over some tourist who took about 70 pounds of glass home with her; so I decided to remove the glass beaches from the list.

Your list is good. A couple of suggestions about it. Start at Warwick and walk to Horseshoe, because there will be more return transportation options than starting at Horseshoe. And Horseshoe has facilities so I think better to end the walk there.

Also there are Jet Ski tours at the Dockyard.

Bermuda Craft Market at the Dockyard

Thanks for the suggestions.

Will include them in the next update.

Thanks for ALL of that... Much appreciated.

Does anyone have anything on Admiralty House Park?

I have not visited Admiralty House Park, and most tourists haven't either because it is not widely known.

TripAdvisor has 51 reviews of which 47 are either excellent or very good.

There are good descriptions of AHP here and here.

To ge there, you would take a route #4 bus from the Hamilton Bus Terminal. As you board the bus, just tell the bus driver where you are going, and he'll drop you at the best bus stop.
