tutumomma Posted April 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I heard that there is a tequila factory in Chankanaab. Is that true? If so how much is it? Sent from my SCH-R530U using Forums mobile app
Rare crewsweeper Posted April 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2014 It's NOT a "factory". It's a Museo (museum) of Tequila. The guy basically show you pictures and videos of how tequila is made and where it comes from. Has some agave plants outside. In that sense it is very similar to the "Tequila Factory" out on the transversal road from San Miguel to the east side. But there's no charge for the tour once you've paid the admission to the park. Not sure if there's tastings if you walk through. Unlike the transversal road site, which sells only one tequila maker's product, though I think you can buy a variety of tequilas at shops in the park. tutumomma Posted April 3, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Thank you. We weren't sure if it was a good tour. I really want to do the Dolphin Encounter and dh wants to do a tequila tour/tasting. Sent from my SCH-R530U using Forums mobile app

Sent from my SCH-R530U using Forums mobile app The Cava Antigua factory mentioned above has Chankanaab listed as a location on their website so as far as I know this location belongs to them. gskline Posted April 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2014 We took an Royal Caribbean excursion to Chankanaab & the Tequila Museum was the final part of the tour. We tasted at least 6 different tequilas. Each one was a different color and flavor. Then you were encouraged to buy a bottle of you favorite. About 1/2 of our group did. By then my wife & I were tired and hungry & just wanted to get back to the Oasis.
