marama Posted March 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2018 We are just back and no, it isn't! In fact we heard no mention about a new Terminal in Yangon at all.

Rare Acrusa Posted March 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Just got notice from Oceania that our arrival time into Yangon is changed to 4 pm . Originally we where due to dock at 8 am. Was there a problem for you also? Sent from my SM-J320V using Forums mobile app
katz Posted March 16, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Yes!!! Our sail dates were Feb 8 thru Mar 14. Ours schedule was messed up because of tides. We missed our stop in Penang because of so-called tidal problems in Yangon. Apparently, Oceania captains do not consult tidal charts in advance. Once on board, we were told that there would be changes made. Our excursion times would be changed ( no big deal) and they would be dropping our call in Penang ( big deal) which added another sea day. This cancellation, plus the cancellation of our call in Madagascar prompted a small uprising among the passengers. A "chat" with the captain was held, and there was a lot of anger. We were pretty much told to sit down, shut up and get over it by the GM. At least you are being warned in advance so that you can make changes. katz Posted March 16, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Yes. The terminal is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from the city center..
Rare Acrusa Posted March 17, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 17, 2018 We are on ships tour so they will make the adjustment. We are also booked for overnight in Bagan but hopefully it won't affect that. Tranquility Base Posted January 15, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2019 We are looking at transfers only to / from the port, ie; no tour just DIY once in Yangon. Is it wise to pay the "port entrance fee" for the pick right at the ship, or is the walk to the port gate OK for pick up outside. Mobility & weather not a factor. katz Posted January 15, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted January 15, 2019 It is a bit of a walk to the gate. The port is very industrial. You might want to check with the cruise line, as there are some strange rules and regulations in the country.
