Luggage straps or TSA approved luggage locks, yes or no?

We use a luggage ID tip that we saw many years ago here on Cruise Critic.

We use the squeeze bottle fabric paint to paint one of our internet screen names that doesn't really mean anything onto the back and top of all our suitcases. The white slightly shiny paint can be seen from all across the luggage carousel. The ribbons and luggage straps are so common now that the ID use has sort of gone away.

After having two TSA-approved locks cut off by the TSA :mad: I now use zip ties.
