Just submitted my deposit for the November 11, 2017 Norwegian Gem

Eastern Caribbean cruise. I'm from Worcester,MA

traveling to New York. I haven't figured the most economical way yet

So any tips/suggestions are appreciated.

Welcome to Cruise Critic!! The most economical way is probably hitchhiking in the day before and staying at the Y. I am sure there will be people on here with better ideas.:D

I think I am going to rent a car drop off in manhattan then stay overnight at a hotel

We usually travel to NYC via Amtrak....Is that an option in your area?

Hubby and I (Glen and Ellen) are also booked on the Gem for November 11th. Our first NCL sailing. There is a roll call for this sailing. Follow the links for roll call and you will be cued to enter NCL - Gem - November 11, 2017. That should get you there. We recent,y joined the roll call. :)

We're from Maine and usually just drive to CT (Milford or Stanford) the night before, stay in a hotel, then drive to the pier in the morning. Parking there is usually a max of $400 I believe, but during certain times of the year there is a 25% off coupon of you go to the Manhattan Pier Parking site.

We like to be able to have the car right there so afterwards it is there and ready to drive back home.

One time we did take the bus from Boston, but NCL stopped offering that service through them unfortunately.

Hi there. My hub and I are on the sailing before you. We are in Methuen MA. We actually found it cheaper to fly into NYC and get a hotel for the night before. Parking at the terminal is crazy and we didn't feel comfortable with it. This way, it also extends our honeymoon with a night in NYC.

I just saw on another thread a parking coupon for Gem guests 25% OFF

We're from Upstate and are set up for Yankee Trails cruise express $90 round trip. Check some bus agencies in your area. :)
