Empress of the Sea Cuba Concerns

Thanks for the information. We called RC to enquire if we could just purchase the visa/tourist card on the boat and then go on our own after disembarking. They said in order to disembark the vessel we had to first purchase the visa/ tourist card ( understandable) but we also had to commit to a shore excursion through RC, otherwise no visa/ tourist card. So RC are forcing us to go through their excursion. This does not seem right but we can’t seem to find a way around this, that is why we posted the message to see if anyone else has sailed with RC and found another way to get the visa/ tourist card from RC without having to commit to their excursions which are $$$$

Hi dear!

I talked to RC through facebook, by phone, and also read the FAQ and they all agree that you can book with 3rd parties as long as they are in compliance with OFAC rules. But I am still quite worried about not being able to get off the ship.

We are booked on the Empress for July 12 4 nights. But there is no roll call for this cruise? Anyone know why?

Just that nobody started one yet. You can start one if you want.;) We have a group of 11 going on the Majesty to Cuba in October and I started that roll call.:D Our group booked the Classic Car Tour through RCCL for $275 for the car, which can take up to 3 guests for a 5 hour tour. We are willing to pay that price to be sure that we can get off the ship and see the highlights of Cuba!
