bingley2000 Posted September 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Sailing on the Odyssey Sept 29 Venice/Athens and have booked an oceanview...first cruise. Are cabins on ships similar to hotel rooms in that if there is an open Veranda Suite, they might upgrade oceanview guests??:confused::confused::confused::D
Host Dan Posted September 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2018 More than not they will offer an upsell to a verandah suite, if available.
wripro Posted September 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Are you asking if, on checkin they will upgrade you to a verandah suite if one is available, do not count on it. Cruise ships are not like hotels and checkin against do not have the authority to upgrade. As Host Dan says they may offer an upsell prior to sailing. ab21au Posted September 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2018 The time we booked an oceanview suite, that is what we got and the ship was not full. We quite liked it, large window and close to the water.
BasandSyb Posted September 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2018 If you have booked a GTY there is a chance they might move you to a verandah. However, if you have done a normal booking you have probably been allocated a room and that will be it. Similarly if your TA has slotted you into one of the available oceanviews that will be it. Seabourn oceanviews are good. Depending on the itinerary and friends on board you may not miss the verandah at all. In fact this area is the most stable for seasickness sufferers.
