divingbabe Posted February 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2018 We are going to Trinidad in March, wondering what the hike to Maracas Waterfall is like. We are in our 60's, don't have a problem walking several miles, but not sure if this hike is straight up, or just an even ground walk through the forest? Thanks
Rare Vineyard View Posted March 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Did you ever find information on this? Or did you already hike it, and if so how was it please?
FlTrini Posted March 31, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2018 I have not done this in years. If memory serves there was a lot of walking through some virgin forest as well as cocoa estates. At the end there is a waterfall and pool that is somewhat shaded and therefore the water is ice cold which comes as a welcome relief from the hike. It has been over 20 years since I have done this therefore I can’t be specific about the length of the hike. If the ship offers this as a tour you should go with them to ensure you have a knowledgeable guide through the forest. When I use to live in that area there were no signs posted to point the way. It was just a route we all knew and could get there and back without getting lost. It is possible that the tourist board has since posted signs but I would not advise going without a Guide and risk getting lost.
