We had a fabulous roll call and thanks to Cyn7 a great party! It was great to meet Cigar Dude who started our roll call.

No problem with rum runners. Had 3 of the small ones in my pockets when I boarded. Those in the suitcases came with no issues.

I was doing something non stop and having a great time every day. The Spirit class ship is very east to navigate and by day 2 I didn't need the ship map.

New menus were in effect. No, I didn't get the meatloaf or the fried chicken. Oysters meant 2 and were described as having spinach and cheese. No cheese to be found...not very good was the consensus. Chateaubriand was way chewy and not very good. Filet was good, paired with a tiny piece of short rib which was tender but was a short rib...Prime rib was good. I missed creme brulee night but our waiter offered to get us some anyway so we all enjoyed it on another night. Had been seated at early seating with a family of 5. We had nothing in common. I asked to be changed and got late seating with 3 other solos, all guys. We had a blast! Never a dull moment at our table with the wine (red nose) one guy kept getting from the casino. Also chocolate covered strawberries. (Does everyone know where to get rum runners, guys???)

Hot food was cold, cold food was hot at the buffet except for hamburgers and hot dogs. Not much is worse than cold grits. Breakfast in the MDR was horrible. The first time I got cold eggs benedict. The 2nd time after 40 minutes I still hadn't gotten breakfast and left. The 3rd time (why keep trying?) the food came after 20 min. but it was cold french toast! I have to say I pitched a fit with the hostess who begged me to stay and they brought me hot french toast 5 min. later but it wasn't very good. No confectioners sugar as described...Had to ask several times for coffee.

One guy at the deli made ruebens with almost no meat and even less sauerkraut while another guy did a great job and made a great sandwich. Maybe the first guy was related to Mr. Cahill?

There is no room service menu in the cabin. It was suppossed to be a sheet included in the Fun Times but wasn't there. The guy who brought my sandwhich said there was supposed to be the book in the cabin and he'd get me one but brought back the piece of paper and was surprised they no longer had the books in the room.

My stateroom, 5230, was obstructed but the obstruction was minimal. I couldn't see the dock in Cozumel so I went to the Lido for the runners excursion! It was a hoot! Stateroom was great and between lifeboats so I had some water view. On deck four there is a crew access thing that juts out and had a light on it all night which was annoying. The cabin stewards were fabulous and unobtrusive. They did a thorough job and always had a smile. Very efficient.

Forgot my cooler so I got a bucket the beer comes in which worked. Then the 2nd day as a platinum member I got a 6 pack sized cooler which didn't leak! That was awesome! Also got a Legend pin.

Won at trivia 3 times! Kept one ship when it was a solo effort but was glad to give the others to those who hadn't gotten one yet. It was fun. One was a name that place thing. The guy showed 25 pictures of places which were mostly so obvious one being the Statue of Liberty. When he was reviewing the answers one of our CC members groaned like he didn't know what it was. That brought the house down! What a great roll call!

Comics were hit and miss. Shows were good except for the juggler. He was a great juggler but for how long can you watch that?

Saw little of Wee Jimmy except on TV and at the Farewell party which was very under attended, as usual. Lots of drinks. Cyn7 invented a new drink by mixing a whiskey sour with a rum punch. I thought it'd be disgusting but it was great! She talked to the bar manager who liked it a lot and wants to give it a name and introduce it as a new option. He better call it Cyn City! Way to go Cyn!

Serenity was large but the clamshell tops were broken on most of them and no other umbrellas. Under the trellis was shady until noon. Hot tub was hot one day, cool the next. No one ever asked if you wanted a drink but the bar was right there.

This was the loudest bunch of people I've ever cruised with. They talked at the top of their lungs most of the time and guffawed loudly frequently. It was odd. Lots of people commented on how loud they were on Lido, in the halls, in the Follies, everywhere. Strange.

The Altun Ha River Wallace excursion was grueling! 7 hours long with a 2 1/2 hour boat ride, 30 min. lunch, 45 min. bus ride and then the ruins. It was hotter than heck. The ruins were interesting and a lot of people climbed them. A lot of people complained how exhausting it was. Many of us missed dinner that night as did I as I fell asleep and woke up at 8:30pm.

I did the America's Cup in Cozumel which was fun.

The weather was great even though we had a thunderstorm in Belize when we got there. It cleared up quickly. In Roatan there was another huge thunderstorm when we docked. It was so beautiful to see the gorgeous island in the pouring down rain. Lots of people remarked how great it was. It cleared up also but only after a lot of tours got cancelled.

There seemed to be a real aversion to cleaning ash trays. Once a staff member took a chopstick which was sitting on the ashtray but left the dirty ashtray which was filled. She put the stick in the trash and kept going. Tables on Lido were seldom wiped down.

Smoking rules were enforced. They ask you to move if you were in the casino just smoking and not playing.

Had a great time and will be glad to do it again. Got 2 FCC's, one I'll use on my November cruise.

Thanks again to Cyn7 and Cigar Dude! Had a blast!

Hi don't know if you remember me or not but we cruised on the Glory together a few years back and I live just south of you. I know you are like me you have a good time whereever you go.

Sorry to here things have went downhill a little because the Legend became my favorite ship. Will be sailing Nov 27.

Take care and thank you for letting us know how things were and what we might encounter.

I just returned from the Legend the week before you sailed. This was my second time on the Legend because I love the ship. My sister in law thought it was us but we got the impression that the staff was burned out. I told my sister in law that we are on an end of the summer cruise and the boat doesnt seem to be completely full, so the staff might be using this as their little break from the busy summer cruises. Anyway, we made do and enjoyed ourselves anyway. Just give me a moviing boat and someone to make my bed and cook for me and I'm happy.

Serenity is aft deck 9.

Also did Chef's Table. First went through galley where we had about 6 appetizers. One had the tiniest cubes avacado ever! Then we went into the Medusa's Lair and the table was set with place cards and the menu. Each course came out very slowly.

Due to the company it wasn't much fun at all. The lady next to me talked for 3 1/2 hours about renting a riverboat in Paris. Her husband never spoke to her. Next to her was a woman with severe food allergies. The chef had to make everything special for her.

The Medeterranian salad was gross, I thought, others liked it. Some things just weren't that good. The lady next to me gushed about everything.

We had 1/3 glass of wine poured many times. It was white and good. For dessert we had a red wine. Not so good.

Food was elegant.

The chef went on and on about how the quality must be the best. I don't think he's ever eaten on the Lido deck...

I told him if the menu is changed to the new one, it would be a mistake. Short ribs are just gross and an inferior cut of meat.

I'd never do it again.

Hi,my husband and I sailed on the legend Aug 7-14. We were also surprised about not getting hot food at dinner and such. The only time I got hot food was at the omelet station and if I stood at the grill and waited for them to drop hot fries-they were delicious. Also cushions on the clam chairs were pretty gross- you had to use your towel as a cover. But overall, we had fun and would do it again

I thought maybe it was just me.. I have been spoiled by the Inspiration, and was used to several restaurants being open for lunch and or breakfast.. Nothing like that was available on the Legend. Breakfast was dismal, we were there when they opened @ 8, and 40 min later I had a cold belgian waffle, that was more limp than anything i've ever had, hash browned potatoes were 2 small disc shape somethings.. and cold, greasy bacon.. bleagh. The MDR dinners were very disappointing, we skipped 2 dinners just b/c the food was garbage. I've never seen powdered eggs being served in a 5 star floating hotel, but that's what was put out @ breakfast.. gross.. oh and the dirty looks received when I would order REAL eggs in the morning.. lol.. funny. Our view was terrific, unobstructed on the 7th floor., but had loud, obnoxious, rude neighbors that argued at all hours of the day or night.. Room service was prompt every morning with coffee as requested and the service around certain pools was great. ALOT of chair hogs and saving spots on the Serenity and staff did nothing to stop it, so much for the NO SAVING policy.

Other than those few things, It was a great cruise. I may not sail the Legend again, but we enjoyed ourselves.

I'm really surprised about the food. Is the quality of food so different from ship to ship? We were on the Victory in January and I have to say I thought everything was good. And the service was awesome. The only things I didn't like were just not to my taste.

I'm also surprised to hear that the Serenity area was a mess. Wasn't it just put in this past February? Maybe it got a good working over during this past few hurricanes?

Oh goodness. We board the Legend next Sunday and this the first i've heard about bad food *yikes* I'm nervous now!

Please don't be nervous. When we sailed the Legend in December, the food was wonderful! Tons of dining venues to choose from, and they were all good! ;)

The Serenity area wasn't a mess, the clamshells were broken and the cushions dirty. I saw some get replaced. Overall clean area. I was surprised by lack of bar service there.

On Inspiration I had the same problem with food served less than tepid. When I said something they heated my pasta but when I got cold lamb chops they heated them to well, well done.

The eggs on the buffet can't be real. Bacon was super greasy. No bacon police though.

I sail the Legend in 27 or is it 28 days (I have a countdown clock and then Carnival.com confuses me).

Thank you for the review. Good to hear about the rum runners not that I or anyone else on our sailing it bringing one (or 2 or 10).

Not that I had any rr's either. Made my first cocktail in VIP check in area. There were about 5 groups to be checked in and no one was in VIP area for over 5 minutes to check us in.

We sail for the second time on the Legend on Oct 9th. First time we had an incredible experience. I have convinced several people to join us and am worried that the cruise has gone downhill. It seems lately that there are so many reviews that state things I remember being so fantastic two yrs ago, are now subpar. I do have a few questions I don't want to post on here. Would you mind discussing via email by chance? TIA!

I attended the cooking demonstration in the steakhouse. It was packed and very sunny in there. You'd get a sunburn if you didn't sit on the very far side of the room.

The chef made ceasar salad, beef stroganoff and a cheesecake. Everyone was given a small sample. The beef was tough and I'd certainly not pay $30 for that as an entree.

I asked for a comment card at the Purser's desk and was told they don't have them. You are supposed to get an email to make a comment. Haven't gotten one yet. I remarked to the Purser "Another Cahill cutback." He laughed and said "Yep."

Well I can now say we will be cruising in less than a year(LOL) but hopefully the attitude will be "perky" again. Did you still get towel animals? Chocolate on the pillows? And you kow the secret to good eggs benedict-order the bernaise on the side. Is steak still an option every night? Personlly I will miss the shrimp, yeah I know I can get it at home, but when you cruise and try to watch what you eat, they are a pretty good thing. Two oysters? Only two? Thanks for the review.

Yes, towel animals. The steward lined them up on the sofa. I put them on the floor for him to take away, no dice. I had to tear them apart for him to remove them.

Yes, chocolate mints.

Got hollandaise on the side but it's not good when it's not even tepid.

On Lido the music was 2 guys, one with a steel drum! He played a lot of songs that had no Caribbean flair though. One song was very raunchy using slander in Jamaican I guess they thought we'd not understand.

2 oysters. Like I said, no cheese as in the description.

Fried shrimp were still on one night.

Didn't look for steak every night. Check the posted menus to see if it's on the "everyday" menu.
