Non-Rocky Beaches

Coco Beach on the north and Sorobon (Lac Bay) on the South are the best choices for sandy beach / walk-in. Coco Beach rents chairs, etc., and at Sorobon you can get them for free - provided you grab a drink our bite to eat at one of the restaurants/bars. You'll enjoy either - Lac Bay is shallow for 100+ meters out with people playing in the shallow water, swimming etc. - at Coco Beach you'll find people laying out, swimming, snorkeling, etc. Hope this helps - enjoy.

How far from the cruise port is Coco Beach or Sorobon. Do you know what the cost of a taxi might be? Thanks

Snorkeling is okay at CoCo beach. There really is no snorkeling to speak of at Sorobon - too sandy and no coral anywhere close to shore. It will be much better on Klein. If snorkeling and a sandy beach is the priority you should take the water taxi over to Klein and snorkel and hang out there. The beaches are beautiful and less rocky. However, you will have no chairs, drinks or food over there so you would need to bring a small cooler (very doable).

The walk to Coco Beach is a good 25 minutes from the port - it's not the distance but the heat that can make it tough at times. However, a cab is very reasonable. It's $10 each way - if you split the ride with another couple it will only cost you $5. Not sure about the cab to Sorobon - I think it's the same or just a little more....definitely not walkable from port.
