glo3479 Posted September 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2018 We are new to Viking Ocean and are set for the Dec 27, 2018 Caribbean cruise. Can you tell me what the dress code each evening is like. We will not be eating at the Buffet but in the Resturant. Any suggestions would be great. We will be on the ship for New Year Eve. Capt_BJ Posted September 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2018 VO is cruise casual every night, there are no formal nights or 'themed' nights For dinner men are expected to have long pants and a collared shirt. You might see the occasional jacket but rare IME. I wore khaki type trou and 'fishing' shirts or dress shirts with no tie every evening; polo types were also common. For ladies a casual dress, top/skirt slacks or capri were most common .... If they plan anything special for NYE dress wize I'd expect you'll be contacted, possibly thru "My Viking Journey"
Richard2 Posted September 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2018 We did a Panama canal cruise on Viking last December that included Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. For men, Tommy Bahama style shirts seemed very popular. They were appropriate in all venues and all evenings. Maybe 10-20% of guests "dressed-up" for New Year's Eve. Peregrina651 Posted September 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Someone just asked about dress for NYE in another thread called Nye. It has pictures from the Star which was sailing the Med last winter.

Sorry I was replying from my "smart"phone and I'm not good on copying and pasting from there, so now that I am at my desktop here is the link to Nye.
