Has anyone taken Princess Shore excursion - Resort & Beach Gateway, USM-590? Description says it's a 4 star resort in Bophut Beach. Use of pool, amenities and Thai buffet lunch are included. Duration is 7 hours. We would like to find out

1. The name of the resort? Does it have nice beach?

2. What kind of amenities are included? Is kayak available?

3. How is the food? is it good, authentic Thai food?

Thank you very much for any info on this excursion

We are trying to determine if we should take this ship excursion or independent island safari tour. Since it's a tender port which had some difficulties in tendering in the past, a long duration ship excursion is very attractive.

We have stayed in Bohput as well as several other beach areas on the island.

In our opinion the Bophut beach is not the best IF you like to walk along the shore. It has a very steep incline which can make walking difficult.

Not sure what you are looking for. A resort/pool or a beach experience. On Ko Samui there are lots of bars along the beaches. For the price of a drink you will get a lounger and umbrella. Often good food. Only issue is massage folks who keep coming along to offer you a foot massage.

Thank you for the info about Bophut beach. We actually want to go to a resort and have nice massage. I contacted a couple of resorts and they don't arrange for transportation. I've read about extortion from taxi drivers to bring back people to the cruise ship at the end of the day on this island; thus, we don't want to stress over it.

Koh Samui - on the two occasions we visited the island we got a taxi at the port (for 6 - we joined with four others from our roll call) and went to the Imperial Boat House Hotel for a relaxing day on the beach. There is a fee of 500 baht ($15) pp but it includes towels, loungers and umbrellas on the beach and by the pool, changing/shower facilities, wifi, and a simple lunch from the bar menu and a drink. A short distance down the quiet beach are beach bars and Thai massage. The taxi picked us up at a pre-arranged time. We didn't pay the driver on the way out to ensure they would be there for the return. Both drivers were lovely and spoke good English.

The resort does have a spa for massages but I went to the ladies on the beach - very cheap for a full body massage, but boy are they strong!!

All together two fantastic days - check out their website, we were last there November 2016.

Very much agree with you about the ladies on the beach!

We were there for ten days, three different beaches. Lots and lots of choice for massages-both on the beach on the street.

We ate lunch on the beach. The beach ladies would come along with their hibachis etc. Grilled chicken and salad. A freshly peeled pineapple in the afternoon.
