Civitavecchia Port Question

Hello:

My wife and I are coming to this port. We've been lucky enough to be in Rome 3 times the past year. Is there anything else to do at this port? We'd like to stay away from Rome this trip.

Any good wine tours or smaller towns along the way?

When we arrive at Civatavecchia we will take the train up to Tarquinia, an Etruscan town (pre-Roman empire) . It's a very short walk to the train station and then a short (less than 30 minute) train ride.

There is also a local bus, but give yourself time to get back

There's a Museum, tombs etc.

The cruise ships usually arrange tours, but it looks really easy to do on your own.

Another vote for Tarquinia, beautiful and historic town, but plan the visit well and make sure you are getting back to C on time!
