JaLa La Posted May 29, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 29, 2018 We are on Celebrity Solstice Vancouver to Sydney Sept/Oct 2018. It would be good to know the distance from where the ship docks to the Luau so we can calculate the cost or it may be close enough to walk - we are all pretty fit. The one we are looking at is a dinner.

The one we are looking at is a dinner. The ship anchors off Lahaina and the Luau is at the Hyatt in Kaanapali. Unfortunately not walkable at all- it’s about 4 miles each way and no path the whole way. Uber’s are a good way to get around and usually available (with the exception of later at night when they can be hit or miss when most of the restaurants/bars close around 10:30pm). As long as the ship isn’t sailing close to when the luau ends it’s extremely easy to do on your own and a total waste of $$ to pay for a shore excursion for it. You’ll get better seats for less money on your own. Kaanapali is a wonderful beach with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops- might be worth going early and then just walking over to the luau at the Hyatt.
