BeeSkip Posted December 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2017 Hello Fellow Cruisers Is there anything to do in Cayman in addition to Stingray City? I have been to Stingray city in the past via the cruise excursion. If we wanted to do so, can we do this on our own or is it risky? Also would you recommend a beach or resort we could go for a "beach day" . Thanks for your help in advance... Bee
aceofbase Posted December 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2017 Just back from cruise on 12-8. I can highly recommend the Royal Palms. Taxi ride was $4 per person, $2 entry fee and $4 taxi ride back. Not really a taxi..more like a mini van. This was hands down the best day of my cruise. Rental 2 chairs @ $12 each. They have umbrellas for rent, but I wanted the sun. The have an adults only pool with bar service & floats to use. The beach was a little narrow, but beautiful! Food & bar service was great & quick! There are free access points along the beach, but for what Royal Palms offers, it was a great deal!
blue_water Posted December 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2017 Do the stingray sandbar on your own? I'm sure you could charter a boat and captain for a price, not sure about renting a boat and going solo. Fat Fish Adventures is a nice day on jet skis. For a beach day we like Rum Point, FFA may stop there as part of the itinerary, or you can rent a car and drive there. RP is a crowded beach club but just a short taxi/bus up SMB... hawk1972 Posted December 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Nativeway does a "Rays, Reef, and Rum Point" trip that we did a few years ago and are doing again in January 2018. You get to swim with the rays, snorkel a little, and have lunch at Rum Point and enjoy the beach.
