does anyone know what the big white thing is in this picture....

bottom row on the right which is directly below my balcony cabin D418?

Its an evac unit. Based on the picture on the front it deploys a giant tube slide down the side of the ship (hopefully to another vessel).

Well, hopefully that will remain unused! Thanks so much, pretty happy it is not some really noisy thing running all the time. I think my room selection is excellent then; hopefully someone who has stayed near here will post.

My DW and I stayed in D416 last spring on the Island. I had wondered what that was before we cruised. Turned out that during the cruise we didn't even notice it. Not a problem at all. Enjoy your cruise.
