balcony locks

I am sure this has been discussed somewhere but I missed it. Can anyone tell me how the balcony doors lock? Are the locks high enough so that children cannot reach them to open? I am most concerned about the balconies on the Miracle. Thanks.

I don't know about the Miracle, but the balcony locks on the Spirit last month, no way a child could open them!! They were hard to unlock and lock, I really don't think a child could unlock them.

There is a lock on the door handle and also a slide lock halfway up the door jamb

As long as you don't slam it you should be fine. Some newer ships (some of RCCLs) the whol handle is the lock (you flip it 180 degrees)

I just got back from a cruise on the Miracle. Our balcony cabin had two locks. A deadbolt below the door knob, and a sliding bolt at about 6 ft high.

Lets not even mention how heavy these doors are to open.

I have a hard time with opening them---cant imagine a child trying
