Omni downtown or Marriott Sawgrass Ponte Vedra or Ponte Vedra Inn and Club Ponte Vedra beach.

All kinds of great seafood, but for something unique I would look up Barbara Jeans... Terrific crabcakes, tuna, shrimp all southern style. Or if adventurous, Safety Harbour in Mayport... Fish sandwich terrific and smell of marine fuel all around!

What is the nicest hotel in Jacksonville?

And a good seafood restaurant?

Can't recommend a hotel, since we live here, we have not stayed at any of them.

However, for Seafood in Jax, there are so many good places to go it would boggle your mind. Once you have found a hotel, then depending on the location, you will find several very good "Southern" style and regular seafood restaurants within driving distance.

Some of the best places are:

Genes, Jackie's, Seafood Express, Joe's Crab Shack, Charthouse, Clarks Fish Camp, Ragtime, Seafood Kitchen, Marker 32, and on and on and on....

Let us know when you have a hotel, and we can surely point you to a very good place closeby.

I had the same question as the original poster. We're staying at the Holiday Inn express near the cruise port. We should be arriving around 5 so thought about driving over to the beach area for a seafood dinner. Thoughts on a restaurant near Jax beach?

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Airport Rd(approximately 5 minutes from airport and 15 minutes to port). It was great for a pre-cruise stay. There was an outback right in front of the hotel and other restaurants within walking distance. It offered a free complimentary breakfast(the standard) served buffet style. But it was perfect, just enough, before heading to the ship. Highly recommended.
