arms4 Posted September 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2009 Our ship does not leave pv until 10 p.m. so was wondering what their was to do in PV at night until we leave? Any suggestions? Want to go cheap too!
Rare Hlitner Posted September 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2009 Hmm. We spend 56 nights a year in PV but actually had to think about this question. So, what do the locals (and us snow birds) do at night? Well, we do go out to dinner. Another fun option that costs absolutely nothing is to simply stroll on the Malecon (boardwalk-like sea wall) in Centro (downtown PV). The Malecon is always great for people watching, there are some local venders selling various tourist junk (at the south end) and there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafes for a drink or snack. You could stop at the Cheeky Monkey (opposite the Ladder Statute on the Malecon) where you can sip $1 Margaritas and $1 bottles of beer, get the best meatball sub in Mexico, and have a fantastic view (they have tables on the 2nd and 3rd floor) of the Malecon and the sunset. To get back to the ship you can grab a taxi, or simply walk inland a couple of blocks and catch the bus (any bus that has "Walmart" or "Sams" on the windshield) back to the port (only 5.5 pesos or about 50 cents). Ine Posted September 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2009 thanks Hank. Is is safe with kids? Yes it is safe for kids. They probably will love to walk the Malecon and maybe play in the sand on the beach. If you go a little more south across the river you will find some nice small restaurants right in the beach.
