My boyfriend and I recently returned from our Carnival cruise where we had stopped in Costa Maya. During our journey there we rented a golf cart and decided to ride off the beaten path a bit. We were actually in search of Maya Chan but when we finally reached Maya Chan, we realized it had been closed down so we stumbled amongst Maya Luna which was another locale close by. Wow. It was incredible. The location of these bungalows sit amongst its own very private beach, secluded with hammocks, beach volleyball, and beautiful sights. As if it couldn't get better... The owners of the hotel are wonderful. They are a beautiful couple from Amsterdam and were nothing but the most gracious and hospitable hosts. They made us their fresh guacamole which was to die for, and truly opened their arms to us even though we hadn't even been guests at the resort. This place is not only a 'must' for cruise travelers but also a place to vacation. Fantastic!
