Got off Liberty yesterday..ask away!!!

The ship was wondeful, very clean still looked new. The staff was really friendly. Everyone was on their best behaviour, room steward and waiters were awesome. Half Moon is my new favorite place, we rented a cabana, worth every penny! Grand Turk was a little crowded with Glory docking there because of TS Erika but there were still plenty of chairs. Hypnotist shows were hilarious as was the comedian Fatcat. Noonan the CD was funny and very friendly but he got off yesterday for vacation. We also changed Captains about half way through the cruise. Weather was good except for the first sea day and it poured rain so the casino was pretty crowded. This cruise was probably the smoothest as far as getting on and off the ships in ports and disembarkment. Food was good in the dining room and lots of choices for lunch. Only thing we wished for was more choices for breakfast room service. I wish I was back on the ship for my coffee on the balcony. We had cabin 6450 and loved the extended balcony and the lay out of the room. We had anytime dining because we booked so late and I still dont understand it. We actually ate at the same time every night at the same table with the same table mates, I guess they just changed us to early dining. I'll be happy to answer any questions. We would definately go back on the Liberty again especially to Half Moon and the cabana.

I see you have also sailed on Royal - are the balcony rooms bigger on Carnival - or just about the same?

Were there long lines for the slides? Are the slides open when docked?

We also are booked for anytime - see you ate early every night - was that your decision - or did they tell you to show up at a specific time?

Last question - do you know how long the Hypnotist show will be running? We sail in nov and would love to see it.

TIA

Kathy

RE: HMC - Cabana - Which one did you have and what one would you recommend being close to washrooms and the lunch? Did you snorkle their and if so how was it? How long for the wait for tender or did you go 1st due to the Cabana?

Can answer the cabin size question. Carnival has the largest cabin size.

The room we had on Liberty was bigger and had alot more storage than on RC. Our room was the L shape. Weve had the corner aft the cruises before and the room was also larger than RC. The few times I saw the slide lines they were not long at all. The slides are open from 10 to 6 and I can not remember if I saw it on port day. Our Sea Pass card said we could dine at anytime so the first night we went to the 6 o clock seating and decided ourselves to go at that time every night. Im not sure how long the hypnotists was going to be performing. I saved all the capers and will look up his name and maybe you can do a search and see what his schedule is. He was a riot!

We had cabana 8, it was pink and was 1 cabin down from the bathroom and was close to the dining area. It was the perfect location and we would reserve that one again. My hubby went out past the ropes to snorkel and saw a few fish but not much. We could see the occasional fish swimming around. If you rent the cabana you are on the first tender to the Island. We were in our cabana at 9 am. We left on one of the last tenders to get back and it wasnt to crowded. We didnt want to leave..lol!

How was the embarkation in Miami? Are the new self check-in kiosks up and running yet?

We were at the port at 10:30 and we were checked in at 10:40. I got there early because I was determined I was going to get on and get the cabana booked. Embarkation was the smoothest ive seen anywhere. We did not see anyone using the new self serv but we got there very early. It seemed like they had alot of people working to keep things flowing. We were the first group to board after the special events and wedding passengers and VIP. I was first in line at the shore excursions.

was the Mongolian BBQ open at dinner time?

Did you use the Spa? Was it as nice as RCL?

The BBQ was open at dinner time. WE did not use the spa but our tablemates did and loved it. They were running some good specials and I thought the prices alot more reasonable than RC.

My question is vitally important! Was one of the maitre'd named Alex Kazakov from Lithuania? You wouldn't be able to miss him--tall, bald, works out, and oh so delicious to look at!!!!!! Oh, and me makes you melt into a pool of water when you look at him!!!

Hee Hee..the maitre'd who came by our table was tall but had dark hair. I do not remember his name tho...sorry!

Pretty odd that you changed Captain's halfway through.

At the Captains party, Noonan announced the Captain then told everyone that we would be switching Captains at the next port so the current Captain could go on vacation. He either left when we were in St. Thomas or San Juan, I cant remember.

How did you like Noonan? We had him on the Destiny and thought he was very entertaining. I really found his Morning Shows to be humorous. I think Butch was coming back on to the Liberty, correct???

We really liked Noonan. He was funny and had a great pesonality. We actually sat with him for a minutes and talked and he really seemed to care if we were having a good time or not...of course we were having a blast.

We are going on this same cruise next March and we can't wait. We have a son who will be 6 when we sail and he is in a wheelchair. Are we able to take him to Half Moon Cay? We can pick him up and carry him some, but will need his chair with us. Also the cabanna seems like a must for us since he doesn't do well for long periods of time in the heat. Can you tell me how much that cost you to rent? Is it per person?

Thanks alot!!

225 for 4 people and if you get the cabana they will drive you to the drop off area so I don't think you will have too much trouble with taking your son. I would say get the cabana so you will have the air conditioning and shade. The cabana's are also very close to the food so one of you could go get your son a plate a bring it back instead of trying to take him to the food area.
