Back from the destiny

Back from the 8/29 to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Had the best cruise ever. I have NO COMPLAINTS at all. The people at my dinner table were great. Everyone I sat with in the dining room for breakfast or lunch were fantastic, and so was everyone I met on the buffet lines.

This cruise was full of party people. I had fun at the pool, at the bars, in the casino etc. etc. and it is all due to the Upbeat, party attitudes of my fellow cruisers. The fun is "contageous", and I caught a whole lot of it.

All ( well 99.9% ) of the crew members were always in a good mood, and very helpful. My cabin Stewards ( Totok & Imade) were the friendliest ever, and they went out of their way to call me by my name ( Nice Touch

Carnival ).

My waiters ( Joesph & Nickoly-- late dining in the Galaxy) were the best. They remembered our preferences, and were very pleasant and fun.

Our Cabin 9209 was great. This was our first time staying on the Lido deck, and from now on ---that is where I will be staying. It is the deck to be on. Roll out of bed and get your first cup of coffee within 60 seconds. Also---partying on deck till all hours and then getting to my cabin without getting lost---PRICELESS.

Did the Beach Horseback riding in Jamaica and it was an experience I will never forget. I booked the tour from Carnival, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it.

In Grand Cayman, we did the dolphin excursion and the stringrays. It was very clear that the dolphin excursion was created for these people to make money on taking your picture. You were posed with the dolphin in waist high water, just long enough for them to snap your picture. There was little interaction with the dolphin. Yes, we got to pet him and kiss him long enough for them to take your pic. It was very sunny out, and you are not allowed in the water with sunglasses, so in all the pics, we are squinting from the sun. The pics came out lousy, but I bought ONE ( $15) just because. The stringray part of the excursion was excellent. You got on a boat and rode for 30 minutes to the stingray sandbar. The captain and his crew were very knowledgeable and they spent a lot of time with us, showing the stringrays, letting us touch them, play with them, feed them etc. That part was well worth it.

The cut backs were barely noticeable ( one midnight buffet which was scaled down, the food on the buffet was also scalled down, less choices on the dining room menu). Little cutbacks which I am sure amount to big savings for Carnival. Hey, I am all for anything that will help in keeping the prices from going thru the roof.

In my opinion, all the food was excellent. I have not one complaint about any of the food on the buffet or in the dining room. I feel that the food was better on this cruise than on my previous one ( Glory).

On last thing--this was my first cruise out of Miami, and I must say the Port of Miami has this down to a science. I had no problem what-so-ever and I used the new Express Check IN Machine. It was a blast. Punch in a bit of info, swipe your passport and you are done. You then go to pick up your sign & sail card and you were done.

Well, I better go now---time to start planning my next cruise.

See you all on board ( God Willing).

We were on the Destiny last year.... we loved her!!

She's not the biggest or newest ship.... but the atmosphere was great... and the staff were awesome!!

We were also on The Lido Deck in a balcony room.... 9069 if I remember rightly.

I'd definitely sail on her again! :)
