TluvK Posted February 13, 2010 #101 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Hi again. When you went on the cave tour did you have to wear closed toe shoes? I'm trying to pack, and I don't want to over pack with things I don't need. Would athletic sandals be ok?? Thanks again! by the way, we are almost doing all the same excursions by chance. Caves, passion island, and the orphanage tour!
3redheads Posted February 13, 2010 Author #102 Share Posted February 13, 2010 I wore athletic sandals and they were perfect! The type I wore were something like this, although not as expensive: Which tour guide are you using for Roatan? kerrytens Posted February 13, 2010 #103 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Yeah, one of my fave reviews has been bumped!! 3Redheads, I have to say that you are one of the main reasons I am seriously looking at booking the Legend next. I think I need to go back to page one and reread now :D

TabithaK Posted February 13, 2010 #106 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Have to say that this was the review that influenced our shore excursion choices! I hadn't even considered the tour in Belize until I read this. I am so glad we did it. We also did Passion Island! Thanks again to 3redheads! SpaceCoast Posted February 13, 2010 #108 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Thank you for the great review. We have the same cabin booked, and I appreciated seeing the pictures. Also, we went on RCCL last year, and we were wondering how they compared. This will only be our second cruise. Thank you for the information on the excursions. Do you think my 9 year old is too young for the 4x4 excursion?

The prices are really good for late August. You will love that cabin. Can't wait to hear about your trip. If your 9 year old doesn't mind being bounced around in a 4x4, he/she will love it, BUT, most important thing. Do NOT have your child ride in the back. Have him or her ride in the front. You go on the main road and go over 45 mph and there isn't a seatbelt in the back. When are you going?
SpaceCoast Posted February 15, 2010 #110 Share Posted February 15, 2010 We are going on our cruise at the end of May. We have already started counting down. Any other tips from the ship or ports? Last year was our first cruise, and we only went for four days.
plumcrazy5233 Posted February 21, 2010 #111 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Love your posts! We are planning to cruise on Legend in Dec. 2010. Your info is helpful for both planning and for dreaming. :)
FAD Posted February 22, 2010 #112 Share Posted February 22, 2010 Your pictures are very clear. What camera did you use (I always ask this questions hoping unrealistically that someone will say that it’s a $ 100 point and shoot camera)?

MrFunInTheSun Posted September 16, 2010 #116 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Know this is an old post and old review, over a year old, but what a great review! We went on the Legend a couple months after you in Nov 2009 and I must agree with you about the excursion in Belize. Land Rover & Cave Expedition was well worth the $ 100!! Anyone seeing this review and going on the Legend must take that excursion, it's amazing. We didn't have the fun of the mud that you did, but had just as much fun. I've got a couple good video clips of the speeding boat going thru the river/canal and then while driving the land rover on the main road. I've posted the link to it below for anyone new going on this cruise or another cruise that port in Belize to see. Looks like Carnival has dropped the price to $ 80!! Wow...well worth every penny. The bus ride back from the caves is a "party" bus..well it was last year at least, all the rum punch you can drink and they want everyone on the bus to finish off all the punch, they make it a challenge! BOUDREAUX Posted September 16, 2010 #117 Share Posted September 16, 2010 I have never gone to an orphanage before on a vacation nor have I ever thought to go. I'm going on the Legend on Dec 5th and am now going to pack an extra bag just for clothes and things. What a wonderful idea to give back. i'm truley blessed that I read your review, again thank you. imjaymi Posted September 16, 2010 #118 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Thanks to another reviewer who took the ship tour, the recipe for WCMC is on the back of the phamplet they give you and is as follows: 6 ounces dark chocolate 6 ounces of butter 4 eggs 6 ounces sugar 2 ounces flour melt chocolate and butter. mix eggs and sugar and whisk for a few minutes. add flour. add egg mixture to chocolate and mix. pour into greased mold. Bake at 390 degrees for 14 minutes. Note: have eggs at room temperature and make sure chocolate is warm.
