Solo Cruiser Posted September 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2009 I don't have plans to cruise on this line but my cousin is booked on Odessy from Venice to Athens next month. This is her first cruise on Seabourn. Her question regards the electrical outlets and if they are the current we are used to in the States or if she will need a converter. On some of the more mass market cruise lines, outlets are at a premium and I always bring a surge protector strip so I can plug in my chargers and my blow dryer at the same time. Is this the case with Seabourn? Will there be sufficient outlets in the suite that she will not need a strip? Thanks in advance for your replies. With all the information gathering I've been doing for her, I'm VERY anxious to try this line for myself one day.

She could bring a dual plug in if that is needed. I never bother..one works fine for my needs. Lola..[she is in for a wonderful treat]
JaneBP Posted September 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2009 I think this question refers to the Odyssey, Lola. Perhaps one of the others will chime in with that suite information.

Gee Jane, and I wasn't even drinking...no excuse for not reading what was quite clear. Lola :o
JaneBP Posted September 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2009 I have done that too. Not to worry about your not drinking, we will make up for that on your 50th Anniversary Legend Cruise in March!
jroettger Posted September 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2009 There were several 110 outlets in the suite on Odyssey. No need for a converter on the ship.
Solo Cruiser Posted September 13, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks for the replies folks (and for the giggle Lola). I believe she is in for a treat as well!!!
Solo Cruiser Posted September 13, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Another question: my cousin is planning to bring her laptop and wants to know if the ship is wi-fi. If so, is there an additional fee for using this service?
wripro Posted September 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2009 The ships are wi-fi. You pay the same fees as if you were using the ship's computers.
JaneBP Posted September 14, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 14, 2009 Copied this from the most recent Odyssey trip report: >"Electric sockets: In the room bar there is one (two-pronged UK type). In the hall vanity there are two, 1 UK type, 1 US type. In the bathroom there are two, 1 US type, 1 UK type (but the hair dryer that comes in the room has thicker than normal prongs and will not plug into the bathroom outlet - a safety issue we were told. Had the same issue at the Grande Bretagne pre-cruise). It will, however, accomodate an American hairdryer or shaver. '
