mummyofthebride Posted September 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Has anyone been married at Port Canaveral. How did Carnival handle obtainging your marriage license?
6rugrats Posted September 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2009 You must obtain a license from the state or island where you are getting married. The fees for this are separate from your wedding package and must be paid with your pre-application; these fees are nonrefundable. When you book, someone from the wedding department will mail you information on how to obtain a license.
mummyofthebride Posted September 13, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Thank you for your response. I was aware of the additional fee and that Carnival would send info once it was booked. I would like to know if anyone had gone thru the experience. Did you have to pick up the marriage license in person? If so, was there adequate time to pick it up and still have time to get ready for the ceremony etc.
Rachy817 Posted September 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2009 They should have it for you when you arrive to the port. Thats how it worked with us!
mummyofthebride Posted September 14, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted September 14, 2009 Thank you. We will be making the call at the end of the week to book my daughter's stateroom and pay for the wedding. It's not until 2011 so we have time. She is the ultimate procrastinator so I have to carry the ball...LOL! thanks for your help.
SweetDara Posted September 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2009 If they live near Florida I would suggest they get their own license. It can save them almost $100. I live in NC and me and sweetie drove down one Friday to Jacksonville. You can get your license from anywhere in Florida as long as you are getting married in the state within 60 days. It also gave us a chance to scope out the hotel, rehearsal dinner options, etc.
mummyofthebride Posted September 15, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2009 It's a little bit of a drive from Northern Virginia. But a good suggestion for those living a little futher south.
