Just want to sight see

We have been to Belize once, a few years ago and never left the compound - I know, so sad. This time we would just like to take a cab or tour and see some of the country. Don't really care about spending a lot of time on the beach or shopping (though that could change). Has anyone just taken a taxi tour and if so what was the cost? There are four of us. Thank you!

You may want to look into the horse carriage tours of Belize City. some one on this board did one a few months ago. They'll take you to all the sites and the driver had a good spot for lunch (local place, not tourista).

That might be a better view and less expensive than a taxi.
