waterbugohio Posted September 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2009 We are looking at booking the Serenade in November. We have flights booked but not the cabin yet. We are looking at deck three for the great prices, but I love to take photos in the morning when we arrive in the ports. (I was spoiled on my only other cruise with a balcony.) So how far would I have to go to gain outside access? It has been less than a year since we were on the Serenade, but for the life of me I can't remember. Sue L Posted September 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Deck 5 I believe would be the closest deck.
waterbugohio Posted September 15, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Thanks for the info. I was looking at the deck plans and can't tell. I know the heli pad is on deck 6 and the dining rooms are on deck 4 & 5. But I couldn't tell if there was outside access. two floors up wouldn't be bad. I still remember last year while taking photos of a complete rainbow, I couldn't get back far enough on my balcony. My husband said he neer saw me run so fast that early in the morning to go up two flights of stairs to get to the pool area and get a couple of photos. But in the end I have a wonderful photo that is now framed and hanging in the bedroom.

jillybabes Posted September 15, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Yes, deck 5 would be the Promenade deck and the closest outside deck...

waterbugohio Posted September 15, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2009 would anyone know where I can find the dimensions on the windows in deck two or three. I know I read this somewhere, but I cannot find it back. If I am reading right, deck two is just a porthole, while deck three is a window, but I would like to find out how big. Rare silentbob007 Posted September 15, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2009 I'm not sure about the window size but in my experience you usually don't want to take photos out of them because they are generally dirty and covered with salt residue. cb at sea Posted September 15, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2009 True--the windows don't offer much of a view...it's mainly to let in natural light.
rummenroman Posted September 15, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Windows are natures alarm clock!
waterbugohio Posted September 15, 2009 Author #11 Share Posted September 15, 2009 I would still rather have a large window vs. a porthole and really want to find where they state window size. I have checked the entire RCI website and can't find it.
