Iguazu Falls - for Bird Lovers

We are planning to spend two nights at Iguazu Falls the first week in December.

Since my hobby is bird photography (easy here in Florida), the birds will be as great an attraction as the Falls themselves!

My research found a large bird park on the Brazil side as well as a smaller bird rehabilitation center on the Argentina side.

Has anyone visited either of these facilities during a visit to Iguazu? Are they worthwhile? Can you get there by public transportation?

Thanks,

Ilene

We were at the falls in JA 08. There was not a lot of exotic birds right around the falls. We did see some comerants in the water just around 30 feet from the falls edge. There were some large birds, likley comerants flying through the mist of Devil's Throat. There was just a few other colurful (white and black combo) that we saw. We were there for two days but it pored rain the first day so had to do both sides of the falls in one day so did not get a lot of time to explore. We stayed in the city of Igazu so we drove up and down the highway. We did see the bird park you mentioned. We did not stop there. It's not too large but there was quite a few cars in the lot. Our driver said it would take about an hour to tour but of coarse you go at your own pace. There is not much around it. There are lot of tour buses but I don't recall seeing public buses but assume there must be some on that highway that employees and locals would use for getting to the park around the falls.
