Cobham cruiser Posted September 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2009 We are thinking of doing a 12 night transatlantic crossing on QM2 in August 2010 and wondered what sort of weather we could expect. Would it be warm enought to sun bathe for most of the crossing?

A back to back on QM2 in August, wonderful!:D August will be hot for two days either side of departure ports... especially NYC, mid-Atlantic can be changeable even in August but sunbathing should be present no problems. If its cloudy you have the large glass-covered Pavilion pool and sunbathing/bar area.

You do need to bear in mind that the ship will be sailing at around 25 miles per hour so you will experience that speed of wind whether there is wind anyway. If you find a sheltered spot you should be ok.

lodge172 Posted September 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2009 We were on board this August. The weather was mixed, we had a little rain, fog and some sunshine. Never good enough to sunbathe, but nice enough to sit out, or use the pool and jacuzzi, so long as you had a towel ready. The sea was very calm.
