who gets bar gratuities?

When you buy an "adult beverage" or a DOD card it has a gratuity included... who gets that? The bartender who makes the drink? What if you are on deck, do the waiter and bartender split it? Or is it all put into a big bucket and they all get a share? Just wondering.... (we usually have a few $1's around for the guys on deck, they work so hard)

I tip the waiter in cash and assume the bartender is getting most of the autotip

I care... about the guys that are waiting on me hand and foot on the hot deck, with a smile on their faces... making sure they get their share of the grats for each drink I buy. Or should I carry more cash on deck? Any more questions?

I was just told the same thing on the Pride. One old-timer bartender (he had two lines go broke while he was working for them) said a bar waiter can make a bunch of money if he/she/it hustles.

Heck yeah! And we had them hustling big time:D Seriously though this is what we have been told so I have no reason not to believe it.....this is the way we do it here too....restaurant bartenders pool and waiters keep......

That 15% is pooled and all bartenders and servers share.

 

If you wish to personally tip a favorite bartender, feel free to do so at the time you order....or at the end of the week.
