MarieAtSea Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2009 I am looking to stay here the night before the crusie on a pre-package through Princess. The only other hotel in their book is Sheraton Old san Juan. I prefer to go through Princess as opposed to finding my own hotles etc. Any concern or tips for either of these? Carribean Princess Jan 2010 Thanks!
kitkat9438 Posted September 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2009 I don't know how much you are paying through Princess but I got the Marriott forf $95 through Priceline. Probably way better deal than you can get through the cruiseline. We are staying at the Marriott for the first time in December but stayed at their sister hotel La Concha last year when we went on the Caribbean Princess (our first cruise). After doing a lot research on the boards and tripadvisor, the Marriott got great reviews and is said to be one of the best hotels in San Juan. As far as the Sheraton in old San Juan, that hotel is supposed to be good if you want to stay in Old San Juan. It is close to the piers, but you will probably have to take a taxi from whatever hotel you stay at unless you get a cruise transfer. The Marriott is in the Condado beach area and you are on the beach with a great pool and a lot of great restaurants that are within walking distance. We loved the Caribbean Princess, but are going to try Celebrity this year. Have a great trip.

kitkat9438 Posted September 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2009 we were on carribbean princess also a few years back and also on celelbrity you will love celebrity - which ship are you going on carol Hi Carol. We will be on the Summit, cruising with some friends we met on the Caribbean Princess last year. Really looking forward to it. Earlier this year we were on the Monarch for a short 4 day cruise and there was really no comparison with Princess. The rooms were so small we couldn't turn around in them. :D
